I debated a long time between the Arden shirt and Clara dress because so many reviews talked about how soft the 100% wool in these two are. Finally decided a shirt better fit my lifestyle and current wardrobe needs and bought the black. It is everything I hoped for. Soft, nice drape, classic. Replacing a synthetic blend similar style that tends to hold odor.
I washed it but find the fabric not as nice as some wool fabric I have purchased (I sew)
I'll wear it tomorrow over a wool sweater tomorrow (need to keep warm!)
Thought it would be more of a drapable knit.
This shirt is absolutely gorgeous. I bought the "aubergine" and it's a lovely deep purple color. The fabric is thinner than I expected, it's a silky, drapey twill; it's hard to believe it's wool! I bought an XXL, which is the size I wear in most brands and it fits perfectly. I was looking more for a warmer wool shirt to wear in really cold weather but this is so spectacular that I'm thrilled that I bought it. It's my first Wool& purchase and I will definitely be buying more in the future. (Maybe you can also make a shirt like this that's more like a heavier wool flannel? I'd buy that, too! Woolrich stopped making them, they're impossible to find!) I love it.
I'm very impressed. I got this as my reward for completing the 100 day challenge in a "Summer midi " and I like it a lot. I'm between medium and large and sized up so I can use it as a layering piece or tuck it it. It's more substantial than I expected and very soft. The sleeves, as others have noted could be a tiny bit longer but it's not enough to take a star away. I look forward to wearing this all the time.
I love that this material feels substantial, but still drapes nicely. It is a little bit long, as someone who is short, but I can half-tuck or wear over leggings/skinny jeans. It is great with black for the office. Comfortable and soft while professional. The color really is a very deep purple, not too bright.
