I studied wool& for quite a while, like it was a class assignment - because I was nervous about the high pricing... BUT...
I am impressed! I purchased a L and XL as I am subconscious of my weight around my stomach area and I wasn't sure where this dress midline would hit. It is actually VERY forgiving and hits above my belly button. I opted for an XL so that would wouldn't feel like the dress is sitting on my hips, which is my normal preference for clothes these days.
I really love this dress, I've worn it 4 out of the 6 days that I have had it and I keep getting compliments! I have even done short hikes and walks wearing it to test out how breathable it is and how it makes me sweat. It's pretty amazing how breathable it is, I totally wasn't expecting that, and it doesn't feel "sticky" after sweating a lot. I have some cheaper shirts that immediately make me stink after working out and I have to immediately wash them, but this dress didn't have that outcome! I still haven't washed it yet and it doesn't smell. I was concerned about the thin material at first, thinking you could easily see through it and that my cat would accidentally pick at it and it would immediately get a hole in it. So far so good. I like the sleeve length as you can easily roll them up on hotter days or keep the down. They reach down to about 2" above my elbow.
I went ahead and bought another of the same dress in a different color because I was so happy with how comfortable it was. I wear it around the house while working remotely and out and about about. I have yet to style it differently because of the hot weather in Alabama, but I'm excited to utilize it in many different styles and simplify my wardrobe to cut down on the amount of laundry and purchasing of new clothes. I also travel a lot internationally, and like to pack super super light, so I am excited to incorporate this into my traveling to cut down on clothes needed.
This is my first Wool& purchase so I got the 2X since there were no 3X in stock. The color is a nice deep navy and the fabric seems of good quality. I did have reservations about the button front and sadly, it did gape between the buttons when I tried it on. Everything else fit well. My biceps are 24" around and the sleeves were almost too tight. I would have liked to see larger sizes in the Tall option. I was not sure if the fit would relax enough after washing and wear, so I'm returning this style and trying a different one in a 3X. Hopefully I'll be able to find my "it" dress and complete a 30 or 100 day challenge in it.
I love this dress and wanted so badly to keep it, but it is an inch or two small for my modesty preferences and not the perfect pink for me. My waist is thick compared to my chest and hip measurements, so I was worried it would be too tight on my waist, but it fit great. I love the silhouette of the Amalya! The pink is more of a dark Peptobismo pink than a bright pink. Do NOT judge the color by pictures because my camera makes everything look a few shades brighter.
My measurements are 34-30-37.
Really comfy and fun. I love that it has pockets and buttons- makes it great for versitility
This dress is the right amount of fit and flair and accentuates all my positives. I usually don’t go for button down dresses because of the risk of exposure (hello popped button). I’m glad I took the risk and I’m loving the cut and color (spruce green) and the option to wear this as a duster.
