I am 5’9” and the waistline of this dress hits me mid ribs. Sadly cannot wear it
I did the 100-day challenge in a Sierra tank so this was my reward dress--and what a reward! Love the feel of the lighter fabric and the cut has a cute, slightly 1940s feel. As a small-chested type, I worried this would be too roomy up top but the fit was good (a little loose, but no problems with show when bending over). Love the pockets and how the dress doubles as a long cardigan, though I like it so much as a dress, I'll probably only wear it that way. I got this in mauve, but I'd love to see more color options so I can buy another!
Really nice color and comfortable fabric. I like that it has a elastic band in the middle to make it a bit more form fitting. The pockets are deep and fit my phone fine. The length hits mid-knee. Doesn't make me look frumpy or anything. When laying flat to dry after washing, I recommend smoothing the collar and the ends of the sleeves so they don't wrinkle.
Only two complaints: 1) The dress smelled like burnt hair when wet after the first 2 washes. The smell has disappeared by the third wash, and 2) The buttons have threads that stick out. This was noticed when I first opened the package. While not a deal breaker (I can fix it myself) for the price you pay for the dress you'd expect it to not have threads sticking out. Just bummed me out that the quality didn't 100% match the price.
These two complaints are not deal breakers. I do love the dress and have worn it for nearly 2 weeks straight now (I should really reach out to officially do that challenge). I've gotten compliments on the dress while out and about as well.
I bought this dress knowing that it would not fit my waist, but to use as a topper. I am all apple shaped, so I leave it unbuttoned and leave it open to give an implied waist and hips.
I started the 100 day challenge right before visiting my family for the holiday weekend. Between the dogs, kids, and water pistols, I would never have packed enough clothes before owning this dress, which I could start every day in, and hang to dry when we moved into the pool. It hasn't gotten any odor so far from wear. The one downside I did notice to the material is that when it rained yesterday, it smelled like a wet animal, so have rain gear available if that's a bother.
I'm really looking forward to wearing this as a layer in the fall. One of the odd things I've noticed is that the dress draws very little attention compared to my normal style, so I've been most complimented on my hair recently. Taking even a week away from varietal dressing though, I missed 7 days of negative self-talk about being the wrong size for clothes. I could not recommend a challenge more highly, and the dress is comfortable, easy, and has pockets. I couldn't ask for more.
