Fits perfectly and is a gorgeous fabric and color. Doesn't look like it will wrinkle. Know it's going to be one of my favs. Think it will work well instead of a sweater too.
The material quality feels great, though other reviews have me worried about long-term use (sweat stains, pilling, excess wrinkles after washing, etc.).
I tried both an XS and S. The fit is just... bleh. I'm in my 30s but a lot of the styles seem catered toward older women. The shirt felt too long and poofed out strangely near the hips, trying to make my waist and hips area look much larger. Forget about trying to tuck these in, even a half-tuck is a no-go. There's way too much fabric. It might be better if they include petite sizing in the future.
And the colors... I ordered the blue and purple to hopefully wear with black or navy dress pants. The colors just aren't flattering. I'd love to see some other colors like a classic oxford blue or something better than what's currently offered. Overall just really disappointed and sad about these as I've been on the search for a good women's merino wool dress shirt for so long now. But this isn't it.
HI Jillian, thanks for your review! We are happy to hear that you love the quality of the fabric. We have passed along your feedback on the sizing and color options for Arden to our design team!
The material of this shirt is gorgeous (as is the color). But the fit was was odd for me (petite, large chest) and the color was too dark and masculine for my style. If this came in a lighter color I might have kept it.
I was so excited to see a collared, long sleeve merino wool shirt. I mostly wear long sleeve collared shirts year round and was excited to have something that could be worn multiple times without washing. I got the purple collar and it is beautiful. The sleeves are a little on the short side but were okay for me (5’7”, 130#). I wore it two days to a conference and it looked great —no wrinkles at all. However, after two days of wearing, it didn’t smell at all but sweat had stained the underarms in a fairly obvious way (and I wouldn’t say that I sweat excessively). So I washed according to the label (cold wash, line dry) and it came out a wrinkled mess. It looked like a high end shirt initially but now I will need to iron it to wear it. For the price point, I would expect something that washed up a little better. In fairness, the tag says that you can dry clean it but who wants to do that? I have many merino wool tops and I’ve never dry cleaned them (or had problems with pit stains). I would return it if I could.
I had been looking for a button down wool shirt for a long time so I was glad to finally see this shirt. I was sad when Wool&Prince went away because their shirts were 100% merino wool in all different weights and colors. The drape is flattering but the colors a bit somber. I will buy another if some patterns or lighter colors come out.
