It feels like it could go from a beach cover-up to a brunch out with friends. It is super soft and even though I finished with my #100daydresschallenge back in June, I find myself wearing this dress every day, too! It has a nice drape, and the L is perfect for me as I prefer something just below the knee.
This is by far the most versatile, comfortable, breathable dress I have ever purchased. I can't wait to purchase another one.
I love my blue camellia. It is soft, comfortable and lightweight.
I am on day 10 wearing this dress. I haven't had to wash it yet even though I've been outside taking public transit. It is very lightweight and comfortable but has enough weight to hang nicely. The pockets can be a bit fussy, but as long as I tuck them into against my legs in the morning they are set to go.
I’m thoroughly impressed by this wool dress.
Last weekend was my daughter’s graduation party. I was outside in near triple digit weather and this dress was fantastic. Before wool&, I never would have worn wool in the summer.
The long length dress hits me mid knee, making this dress perfect for the office.
I’m on day 11, still working from home and my kids have not noticed I’m wearing the dress black dress daily.
I always get compliments when I wear this dress. I was worried that the style was so shapeless that it would look like a bag, but that’s not been how people react to it.
It’s so weightless and easy to wear. I’ll be finding ways to wear it into fall and beyond, pairing it with tops, etc. I agree with others: I like the length.
I got my camellia tank dress long in black with the $100 gift card I earned by doing the 100 day challenge. I am 5' 10" and love the length of the long camellia as it hits me right at mid knee - short enough to be cool this summer but long enough that I can wear it anywhere dressing it up or down. I LOVE that is has generous pockets. I took one star away as I think the price tag for this dress is rather high for what it is - I would never have bought this dress without the gift card. I am looking forward to pairs in with my rowena in winter for a layered look.
I loved the style, the fabric, and the beautiful color (Lapis Blue). What didn’t work for me was the width of the shoulders. All the bras the I tried with it showed my bra straps, which I didn’t think was a good look. I have the Sierra and that wasn’t a problem with that dress. I seriously considered keeping it and just wearing a sweater with it, but in the end I regretfully returned it. Later, I saw a recommendation in one of the reviews of wearing a racer back bra, and that might have worked.
Also, I thought the Lapis Blue color of the dress was very similar to the Vintage Blue in the Maggie dress, only slightly brighter. If you already have that color dress you might want to keep that in mind. (Of the two colors, I liked the Lapis Blue better, although both are beautiful.)
My dress is very comfortable in the summer heat
I was going to title this review "Better than a bathrobe!" because I wrote my Ph.D. dissertation in my bathrobe and have always felt that was the ultimate piece of clothing as far as comfort goes. Comfort aids creativity and creativity aids writing, so ever since those grad school days, I've tried to work my livelihood around wearing the most comfortable clothes possible. Enter Camellia, a lovely tank dress that I really liked but which had one thing I worried about--it was made of wool. I'm a knitter/crocheter, so I've worked with merino wool and knew how soft it was, but still, I had reservations. After all, living in the desert southwest, I worried how cool and breathable a merino wool dress, even a blend, could be in our 105*F+/40*C+ summers.
But the merino is so lightweight, and the style so loose and flowing, that the Camellia dress has been comfortable and just about perfect throughout our long, hot summer. The easy care of the dress (hooray for washable wool) is amazing. I am a fan of in-seam pockets over patch pockets (which the Sierra has) so another design plus for me. And after starting the 100 day dress challenge, I have realized another plus for the tank dress over my bathrobe--no belt. Could it be perfect?
So I was wrong. The Camellia dress is far superior to my bathrobe.
PS I've used it as a bathrobe.
