camellia tencel tank dress

Camellia tank dress for winter in Wisconsin? This dress is so easy to layer. I have no problem what so ever finding ways to look my best in this dress. I have never felt uncomfortable in this dress.

Love it!

First off, I love the fabric and the mission. I'm on day 13 of the 100-day challenge and it's been great! It doesn't smell at all, though I did wash it once to get a couple spots out. The spots came out no problem and I dried it overnight. I love not having to think about what I'm going to wear for the day and just skipping past all the decisions associated with that. I've been trying to simplify my life in as many areas as possible, and the dress and the challenge have been a great help to that! I'm a bit long waisted and have....curves that tend to shorten things up, so I might go for the longer version next time (they were out when I purchased mine, but I didn't want to wait), but the regular length has been totally fine. I just have to be a bit careful when sitting down and such to make sure I'm not flashing people. Someone said the armholes are a little smaller than another of the dresses (I haven't tried any others) and I was a little concerned because I have fairly large arms and have had issues with clothing being too tight there, but the camellia tencel tank dress has more than adequate space. It has actually stretched a touch and I wouldn't want the arm holes any bigger because it would show too much bra. As it is, a regular bra is covered fine as long as the straps stay in place. I can't quite wear a racerback without the straps showing, but that's not a big deal. It does show lines in the front with most of my bras. I think it's probably a combination of the thinner material and my bra fit. The material is nice and soft but sturdy and it lays nicely otherwise. I don't think I've noticed any issues with it showing my panty lines, but I've also been wearing undershorts or leggings with it to prevent my thighs rubbing. The color is lovely. :) It definitely goes best with other muted colors. I very much appreciate how modest it is while still looking nice and without feeling like it's choking me. I am trying to think of whether I've gotten hot or cold in it (I tend to run hot, hence the tank choice...), but I can't think of a time it hasn't been the perfect weight for cold or heat. It's the beginning of fall in Missouri, so we've had days in the high 80's and nights in the low 50's. I wear leggings and maybe a flannel over if it's cooler just to cover my extremities, but the dress has done wonderfully with the whole "temperature-regulating" aspect. I'm confident that it will be easy to layer over it as it gets colder and it will be comfortable next summer! All in all, I really like it and am glad I spent the money for this high quality, versatile piece.

Awesome except on a windy day!

I love this dress. It is loose fitting and i like accessorizing it. I am only on day four or five. I have worn it to work in campus and work at home for zoom. I’ve worn it to the local brewery And hanging around. The only stress I had was Thursday when I wanted to sew hem weights in so I didn’t have to worry about it blowing up in the air. Lol

So far, it’s great!

I’m on Day 9 of wearing this dress, and I’ve been very pleased. I’ve gotten a couple of spots on it which I’ve immediately washed off. No problem. I live in Southeast GA and was concerned that “wool” may be too hot for our hot September weather, but it’s as cool as any thing I have!

Love this dress

I bought this dress to have something comfy and sturdy to wear while packing to move, and it's perfect. Nice and cool, but great for layering. I've worn it to work, church, and to lug bags of clothes to Goodwill.

Great versatile dress!

Soft and comfortable material. The cut is sleek on its own or works really well as a layer under a long sleeved top and/or leggings and dark jeans. Blueberry jam, zucchini bread batter, and dirty rusty metal stains have all disappeared with plain water or water + dish soap! The material is lightweight enough to knot the skirt on the side if I need to walk through tall wet grass or step over fallen logs. The pockets fit my cell phone comfortably. Pulling the pockets inside out and tying them to the back adds a lovely dressy shirt option too! I've just started the 100 day challenge and am looking forward to wearing the Camellia under warmer tops as fall arrives and transitions to winter in the Far North!

Love!

After completing my 100 Day challenge in a black Ellie, I’ve had a hard time finding another style I like. I love a nice waist to highlight my figure and the shift dresses weren’t cutting it for me. I thought maybe I was being too critical but as soon as I put this dress on, I knew it was the one! I do prefer it paired with a skinny belt for a little bit of waist cinching.

The material and the color are great. My only complaint is it has a little bit of panty lines going, a pair of undershorts helps considerably.

Comfortable and Light

I've only worn this once, but found it to be comfortable. I love the lines--good neckline, side pockets. All details I like. I probably should have gotten a medium, based on the reviews below.

Same great fit as rowena, but sleeveless!

This dress fits amazing on me, about knee length. This was my reward dress after owning the rowena and it’s just as great. Perfect for hot days with all the other things I like about wool—dries fast after washing, doesn’t hold odor, regulates temp, and feels amazing on!

Took a minute but worth the wait

Camellia is my 9th Wool& dress, so I have a little experience with the brand. When I opened the package I was unsure if I loved her. I love the color because PURPLE, and I loved the style, but the cut is a little less generous in the armpits than Sierra and the fabric had a different feel due to the high Tencel/low wool content. I wasn’t sure what to think. The fabric wasn’t automatically as cool as I imagined it would feel either and it didn’t have any better drape than my other wool dresses.
After wearing Camellia a few times I have warmed to her. She has the ease of my first choice from the company, the Sierra. The arm holes have relaxed a bit or I’m not as aware. Layering under Camellia harder than with Sierra because of this.
The pockets are a little different and felt odd with the multiple fabrics but I think they help with bulk so I don’t mind as long as they hold up.
Overall I’m glad that I waited for Camellia. She is an excellent three season addition to my wardrobe.
