The dress arrived today and I am so happy that it is long enough! It hits just below my knee which is how I prefer my dresses. I liked wearing the Fiona (for 107 days straight) but always felt it was four inches too short and I am so, so glad that the Ellie is four inches longer. I had the Fiona in a size large and felt it was a tad big so I got a medium in the Ellie and there is no extra room but I think it will be just fine. The neckline is a bit low for school teaching but fine for regular life. I'll wear something under it or stitch something in for school. The color is nice. The fabric, of course, is nice. I just double knot the tie and it hangs nicely and unobtrusively. It is a much dressier looking dress than the Fiona. I am quite pleased with it.
I completed the 100 day challenge in a Rowena and chose the Sierra tank as my reward dress, but when this beauty came out I had to add to my collection. I love everything about the Ellie from the color to the fit to the always super comfortable fabric. It has quickly become my favorite Wool& dress!
I bought the Teal because it's my favorite color. Even though it's not black, it still really versatile. Easy to dress up or dress down, even though this may not seem as casual as some of the other dresses. It was a bit long on me so I intentionally shrank it. Easy to clean with a garment steamer if dry cleaning bills aren't your thing.
I’m about 2 weeks into the 100 day challenge and I’m loving this dress. The fabric is lovely and soft. I have pets and and it’s easy to brush off the dog hair - I was worried about it sticking to the black dress too much. I really like this style- it complements my waist and hides my hips. 😀 Where I live we can have cool days and warm days this time of year. I was afraid I would get too hot. But no- it’s nearly always perfect, even through hot flashes. I much prefer this merino wool to any other fabric.
The first day, though, my dress developed a small hole in the seam in the pocket. They offered to replace it but I chose to mend it myself. Not a huge deal.
The one thing I don’t care for is the plastic elastic that is not encased in fabric in waistband. After the first washing (hand washed, air dried), the plastic began to buckle and is now really itchy. Grrrr!! I would suggest the plastic is not necessary, given the stretch of the fabric alone. This is a major design flaw.
After initially selecting the Clara for the 100 Day challenge, I exchanged it for this dress to accommodate my hips.
I’m on Day 6 and I love the material. I am comfy at a variety of temps, which is really saying something as I tend to be an anxious sweater. I also love how easy the material is to care for: I rinse the pits in the sink as needed then hang to dry and am ready to go in the morning.
It’s professional enough for my office, but I feel a little overdressed when I’m wearing it on the weekends around my house. Am excited to go with a more casual style like the Rowena for my reward dress.
I’m perplexed as to why the tie isn’t at the waist like a traditional wrap dress. It is still flattering, but unusual. Maybe to support the pockets, which are just the right size for my phone? Was surprised that I don’t end up with a lumpy silhouette while utilizing the pockets either.
There is something scratchy along the inside “waist” of the dress. It’s not dreadful, but I do find it needing adjusted through the day, along with the tie. I probably could have sized down to a Small to fit my torso more precisely, but I think a Small would have been a tad too snug across my bum.
Overall a great dress, one I really don’t mind wearing day after day, with room for a few small improvements.
I am 5'3" and wasn't sure how this style would look on me, but I really love it. Because I am so short I think it looks best with heels, but it also looks good with a pair of heeled boots and a jean jacket. The merino wool is soft and warm, not itchy. The only thing I wish is that it is a true wrap and that the tie was thinner.
Fits nicely and flatters! Seems durable. The teal is very elegant yet simple and classic.
Love the dress. Haven’t worn it yet, saving it for Christmas. It is flattering and comfortable, and a good length for me.
This is my third Wool& dress. It is beautiful and more feminine than the Rowena dress (which I also wear very frequently). I ordered it in teal and the color snd fabric are gorgeous. Unlike my black and grey Wool& dresses, this one doesn’t go with very many of my cardigans. I wear some types of trainers with the Rowena dress but I don’t think I would with this dress. It just seems a bit dressier. I should have ordered one size larger than I did as it is slightly too tight on me, but since I must lose a few pounds and I am on a diet, and I didn’t exchange it snd then this dress will be my reward for when I do lose the weight. Length is great for me. I know the dress will get lots of wear.
I was so excited to receive my Ellie Midi Wrap dress after completing the 100 Day Dress Challenge with my Rowena. Thank you wool& for creating such beautiful, sustainable, and flattering dresses. The Ellie fits well, and the color is stunning. And, POCKETS!! Just like the Rowena, it's wearable in chilly and warm weather.
