Culottes are not my usual style, but I thought I'd give them a try. And they have grown on me. They work even though I am not that tall. I wear with black half boots to elongate the line. They are well made with heavier fabric. Like a skirt, but pants. Great for colder weather. I think they look chic and professional, while being secretly comfortable.
I hoped these would fit as palazzo pants on me since I'm 5' tall on a good day. They did! For me they'd look ridiculous if I shortened them to culottes. I think they're perfect as long pants.
Wore these (3) times and washed p/instructions, using lowest spin cycle and hang dry - essentially treated these like a fine sweater. I purchased the as a cancer and heart failure patient, who rapidly is losing weight. As a (now) non-practicing RN, due to condition, these were a huge expense for me and I also need the Navy but…cannot spend the money on a very expensive purchase, that disappointed me. The Navy color is perfect for my needs and the (purchased) black was to be a great Capsule addition.
I have several dresses, the leggings and now these pants! Living in SoCal these are perfect for our warm climate. They are thicker than I expected, more like the Sierra dress fabric, but not too heavy.
The pants fall above my ankle, so work well with sandals and tennis shoes. Not sure how they will look with my ankle boots in winter but I’ll try it out.
My only complaint would be that the waist band twists a little in the back, but otherwise they are great. I really love them - especially with my favorite dress, the Camellia tucked in.
I would love to see these in other colors as well!
The weight of the wool is heavier than I thought. It works well, though. It keeps shape. The pants are nice loose fit. I am short-legged so the pants come to the ankle. It is comfortable wideleg pants. My normal size would have been too snug. I do hope to lose weight soon, though.
