Laurel is the latest in my wardrobe from Wool&, and once again I am very pleased with the comfort, quality, and style of the garment.
I thought I would need to wait for warmer months to wear her, but I discovered that she layers well under sweatshirts and looser sweaters.
Her linen blend fabric has a nice hand, and again feels different from all of my other pieces (Sierra, Clara, Fiona).
Laurel isn’t long enough to be a dress for me but has nice coverage when paired with leggings. I’m looking forward to trying Laurel with other tops and dresses, layered both under them and over them.
Thank you for the feedback! We love how versatile it is and are so glad you've found so many ways to wear it.
I’m wearing the Laurel for the #100daychallenge. So glad I chose it because it’s so versatile. The color is pretty and yet neutral, with kind of a denim look. It’s hard to describe the material; feels a little more like linen (only 25% linen) but it doesn’t wrinkle like linen. Hooray. I have even warn it with the collar tucked inside. I wear it with leggings, I tick it in jeans. I will wear as a dress on summer vacation. Last night I washed on delicate, hung to dry and it was dry by morning (in five hours—short night sleep)!
I am about 70 days into the 100 day challenge and I do like this top. I ordered a Medium but wish I would have gotten a small, I was worried about it shrinking some in the wash but it hasn’t. I have only washed it twice so far (just a warning that it doesn’t smell very good when wet but it goes away once dry). So it’s big on me. Now that the weather is getting colder I’m having fun laying it.
I've been on a weight loss journey (over 40 lbs to date), and I've fallen in love with your dresses. I'm about 1/2 way to where I want be, but I really, really wanted a Wool& dress NOW! I have spent hours pouring over pictures and reviews trying to decide if I can wear one of your dresses now, and also wear the same dress quite a few pounds later as my body continues to shrink. I'm getting rid of my old clothes that don't fit as I grow out of them and happily replacing them with fewer, more versatile, better quality pieces. I wanted to be sure that if I invested in Wool&, that I could continue to wear them now and at the end of my journey. I'm saying YES.
I chose this tunic to try in both XL and L, as well as the Clara shirtdress in L and XL. (I have a Rowena on order as well to ship when available!) To my delight, when I tried on the XL and the L, I loved how the XL looked on me, and I also loved the L, which was a bit snugger, but easily wearable the way it is. Trying on the XL showed me what the L will look like as I continue to shrink. So much love. I returned the XL seamlessly, and I am secure in the knowledge that I'll feel pretty and confident as I wear this tunic now, and as I continue to lose weight this beautiful tunic will continue to look fabulous on me. I've worn it with leggings, with skinny black pants twice, and next up in the rotation will be with a long black skirt I have. I love it. It's very comfortable and like everyone says, it does not wrinkle or retain odor. I haven't washed it yet.
Sure it's expensive, but it's gorgeous, flattering, and will serve me well now, and well into the rest of my weight loss journey and after. Definitely worth the investment! I'd love to see colors other than the grey stripe and chambray. To me, they are too close to each other to justify the purchase of the other one. I have the grey stripe.
I must give credit to Wool&'s easy return policy because without it, I wouldn't have had the confidence to try both sizes in 2 different dress styles to see what worked for me. Happily I kept the L in both the tunic and the shirt dress, and I also ordered a Rowena long and Rowena regular both in L for shipping when they are available. With these dresses in my closet, and some great accessories and footwear, my clothing needs are well covered through my weight loss journey and beyond!
Beautiful chambray fabric.
I am curvy (hourglass) and this tunic fit well everywhere but my hips. It was a tad snug so I knew I would be constantly tugging it down as I went about my day.
The M was the right size for me all over, but snug in the hips. The Large was swimming on my upper body but had the right ease at the hips.
I bought this in S and XS to see which fit better and I liked the slightly closer fit of the XS so I returned the S. It definitely does fit loosely. I was a bit disappointed that there were no pockets, but it's not a deal breaker. Love the material and the style.
Love that I can dress the shirt up or down. Can wear as a "jacket" or a shirt. Too short for me to wear as a dress. Can't wait to start traveling again as this will make a nice travel piece.
I really like this top. It is almost long enough to wear by itself since I am fairly short, but I will wear it with leggings. I usually do not wear shirts or blouses--stick mainly with pull over type tops, but I am glad that I got this as it looks more polished than pull over tunics.
I just love the belted tunic. I broke my arm recently and it is perfect to wear at this time. The fabric is beautiful!
I have been impressed with the longevity and versatility of this garment. Honestly, when I chose it, I did so because it was the lightest-weight option and we were approaching summer in New Orleans - not because I thought it was the most my style. Turns out it very much was! It took me from NOLA on a cross-country move to Alaska, where it has unpacked boxes and gone on hikes. I never thought I was a tunic person, but it has been so much fun worn so many different ways. My favorite is with the sleeves rolled, either tucked into trousers or worn belted over leggings. This piece will definitely be on my packing list when we're allowed to travel again.
I was a bit in-between sizes, and sized up for more length - part of me wishes I had sized down to the xs instead to make the voluminous sleeves easier to fit underneath things. I also understand that it's technically a tunic and not a dress, but having one more button on the bottom would have made a big difference. If you need your clothes to be wrinkle-free, the linen in the Laurel means it's not for you. Finally, I think the garment would have been improved by a breast pocket or two!
Overall, I am really pleased with this piece. I wore it to participate in the 100 day dress challenge, but still find myself reaching for it regularly. It is versatile and comfortable. My measurements are roughly 33 bust, 27 waist, 37 hip, and I would describe my body type as pear-shaped/athletic, with a longer torso and shorter legs. I usually wear an XS/S. The small was an oversized fit, but not comically so.
