I seriously love this dress. So far I own a Rowena, Ellie, Sierra, Willow, and Fiona dress. Plus the Laurel tunic. This is the same fabric as the Sierra (which I really love) so I decided I should give the Mara a chance, just based on the fabric.
I absolutely love this dress. It’s delightful and cozy and stretchy. And to be honest, I wasn’t sure if I would love it. The first time I tried it on it didn’t appeal to me. But I tried it again the second day and something clicked- and I fell in love.
I get compliments on this when I wear it. I feel amazing. This dress is as comfortable sweatpants but looks so much more put together!
I'm on day 36 of wearing my Mara sweatshirt dress for the 100 day challenge. It's been the most comfortable and most worn dress I've ever had! I've been comfortable each day regardless of the temperature which has ranged from below zero to near 80. I'm not a dress person, just a jeans and t-shirt girl all my life. I live in the middle of nowhere so have very few occasions to dress up. I've never spent $158 on a dress in my life! But, I've also never worn anything 36 days in a row...let alone 100! What is amazing to me is that this dress hasn't stretched out or lost it's shape in any way. I was hesitant about using Mara for the 100 day challenge because it didn't look quite as versatile as some of the other dresses. As it turns out, it is quite flattering on it's own and is easily belted or a couple inches tucked into jeans!
I was excited to wear this dress for 100 days. Alas, April weather in NYC is getting too warm for a wool dress. I start sweating as soon as I put it on. After persevering for 22 days, I need to drop out. Saving the dress for fall and winter weather. It is comfy with leggings. Probably the mock turtleneck makes it warmer than other dresses as well.
Very attractive! It looks exactly like the picture. And it is perfectly utilitarian, although not perfect (the collar is somewhat loose), the dress is still incredibly attractive. The fabric is soft and comfortable, not scratchy at all. And, it washes like a dream! It is one of my favorite dresses. I liked the first one so much, this is my second one.
I thought I was going to wait and get the Camellia for my rewards dress but the Mara was so intriguing I decided to go ahead. I'm glad I did! Because this was more fitted, I initially ordered a size larger than my Fiona dress, but after hanging the dress overnight, it seemed to loosen up a bit so I ordered a second in my usual size. The first one I got was black, and it was nice & sleek, almost too fancy feeling for me (I never "dress up"). I ended up with the Washed Navy, but to me it's more of a dark charcoal and is super versatile. I was a little sad that we got some warmer weather right afterwards and I have only worn Mara twice now, but I can see it being a real fall/winter staple.
Mara is my fifth Wool& dress. I completed my Challenge with Sierra, then added a Clara, Fiona, and Laurel to my wardrobe. Because I love them all it was inevitable that I would consider another offering from this brand. With Mara I wasn’t sure I liked her styling though, the neck line is unusual and it’s line is straight but my body is not. When browsing through the lineup my husband selected Mara for me, so I trusted his judgment.
I originally ordered a small like all of my other wool& dresses, but I needed to return and upsize to medium. I measure between sizes and Mara’s straight line is less forgiving than the others styles.
Once I received the correct size I really like the dress. What’s not to love about a sweatshirt dress? It’s extremely cozy so, she’s best for cooler weather. I live in the piedmont of North Carolina. Since I received Mara we have had weather from the low 30’s to upper 70’s. I like Mara best when it’s cooler than the 60’s F.
The pockets show their contents when I slip my phone or keys into them, but all knits will. I still use them like this a moment when I need my hands free. I’m glad they are there.
I’ve styled Mara ad a tunic top over pants (not fully pulled down) and as a dress over leggings. She works either way for me.
I’m pleased with the styling and quality, I know next winter she will be a wardrobe staple.
Admittedly, I've become a little obsessed with Wool& dresses. I have 6 of them now... Two Rowena dresses, a Brooklyn wrap dress, a Clara shirt dress, a Laurel belted tunic, and now a Mara dress. That said, I'm IN LOVE with my Mara dress and wish I'd bought this one first. I didn't think much of it when I first saw it, but on a bitterly cold winter day I was scouting the #100daydresschallenge on Instagram and saw how a LOVELY lady styled it SO many different COZY ways. I contemplated purchasing for several days but ultimately decided on getting it and so glad I did. I don't buy many new clothes these days, but if I do I have three musts: 1) it must be wool or organic cotton 2) I must love it 3) I must feel good about the business I'm supporting. I plan to wear my wool& dresses until they fall apart. Thank you for being such a great brand.
I love my Mara Sweatshirt dress. The merino wool is lightweight but warm and not at all bulky. I can easily put a sweater and a vest over Mara and not feel overstuffed. I was concerned about the patch pockets in the front adding to my already curvy thighs but they don't at all. The fit is perfect! My only want would be additional colors like an olive green or rusty orange. Thank you Wool% for another quality product!
So comfortable and versatile. Dressed it up with a scarf and boots today. Also wore with a pair of Converse. Super cute.
I love the relaxed fit and cozy factor of this dress. As a knitter I can envision many of my cardigans with this dress for extra warmth, and I have a few cropped lightweight pullovers that look amazing with it. This is my favorite fabric for everyday.
