In spite of all the “wool regulates temperature,” I was nervous to order something since I live in central FL. The black tank is my first purchase and it’s been fine for temperature so far. I think it will be wearable when we get real unbearable heat, too. The tank is comfortable and a flattering fit, although not as fitted as I had expected.
The tag placement for a reversible shirt was odd, but easy enough to cut out.
I ordered both the black and natural white color. The natural white is creamier (more yellowish than it initially looked to me in the photos) and thinner than I expected. It's really sheer, and basically can't be worn without a bra unless you like your nipples showing. I was a little annoyed at first because this didn't really come across in the photos -- looking back, it's photographed well just not up close, and I think the model is wearing a nude colored bandeau style bra.
After wearing it under a button down though, I feel like it's probably a good thing that it's so sheer to keep from being too bulky. It kept me warm and dry without much of a footprint, and performs as expected of a wool product (great!), so in that sense it's really functional.
The cut was also a bit larger than expected, I ordered an XS, which is my usual size, but it wears a bit more like an S with a slight gap at the armpit and lower cut (this probably wouldn't be the case for someone with a wider chest). Also, the lower cut ended up working out well as an undershirt (didn't peek through as much). I'm expecting this to shrink and condense a bit overall, as have my other wool tanks purchased elsewhere and given my haphazard washing habits. Maybe it'll end up being the expected size and thickness after I wash it.
All in all, I agree with the previous reviews -- a bit large but works great as an undershirt. For me, it's not really worth the time and cost to return it, but just know some of these details going in so that you're not disappointed. In the end, it's a really functional product, and it will probably work out well for me (I wear undershirts often, and was in need of a couple that would be longer lasting than my current cotton/synthetic blends), it just wasn't exactly what I was expecting, which was to have a low-fuss tank that I could immediately throw on and wear out on its own.
The fabric felt great, but the armholes gaped (maybe cut for people with bigger boobs?) and the V neck was off center. I really wanted to love it, but returned it.
I'm 5'5" tall, 143 lbs, and 38-33-40. I wear a 36D bra. I bought my usual size Medium. This undershirt has a nice weight and is not itchy. It just skims my body. It's not tight. I like that. I find the straps to be a bit too long for me, and this puts the neckline and armholes too low, and the armholes gap. It's very long. I don't know if it will shrink in length, but I don't think so, since none of my other Wool& garments have ever shrunk. Since I will be wearing this as an undershirt or sleep top, I'm not too concerned that the armholes gap.
The shirt is supposed to be reversible, but there is a tag right in the middle of the scoop side. If you use very sharp scissors, you can snip the threads and the tag will come out without affecting the look of the neckline.
I bought both colors and will keep them, but I wish the straps had been a bit shorter.
