our rowena dress comes with a few advantages.

Oh, the burgandy stripe is lovely, but oh, does this dress make me look like I'm trying to hide something under it. I was really looking forward to having a dress I could wear all the time (and the fabric feels like it would be wearable a good 3/4 of the year even in the hot and humid climate where I live), but it is so baggy and shapeless that I wouldn't wear it even once. Really disappointing. The concept is so wonderful - a 100 day dress?! Awesome! However, I can't pull this off until there is a similar swing style dress with a little more shaping through the midsection.
I like the dress, the colour and the silhouette it makes me (although the fabric was quite thinner than expected).
I normally use an M or and S. After asking which could me the size I should wear they reccommended me to buy an M and the dress is perfect in the sholuder area but too wide in the rest of my body. I didn't returned it or exchanged it because of the shipping costs. Besides paying 10$ for the regular shipping, I had to pay 48$ extra to be able to pick up the dress from the shipping company (custom fees). Now, I will have to pay some extra money to the seamstress. If I had known about the extra shipping costs, I wouldn't have bought the dress.
However, I'm sure I will enjoy wearing it and it will be my partner in all of my trips.
I waited a *long* time to make the jump and splurge on my first wool& purchase, and I'm glad that I did. On initial try on I was a bit unsure -- I'm tall and the sleeves were a touch short (which always happens) but were slim enough to make rolling them up not super feasible. I'm also not used to this silhouette. However, after looking at other women of all shapes and sizes wearing this dress (and seeing them rock the 7/8th sleeve look!) I decided to keep it and wear it, and after a couple wears I am SOLD. It's going to be my new fall/winter going-out look for sure. I do have a wide obi-style belt in brown leather that I wear with a lot of dresses, and this totally transformed the silhouette for me when I want something more form fitting. I'll try to get a picture of this and tag it on instagram as I haven't seen anyone else wear it this way and I find it extremely flattering. It is short on me, definitely more of a tunic than a dress which is fine when wearing with leggings. Thank you for making a lovely dress, and I look forward to all the new designs coming out next year!
I really really really wanted to love this dress. I was hoping it would be a main item to wear this fall/winter. I got the burgundy stripe one (the only color left in my size) and it is beautiful. But the dress just didn't fit me. I normally wear a medium in everything, occasionally a small, and am smaller on top than bottom. In fact, usually dresses fit me too big on top and too small on the bottom. Imagine my shock when the medium was actually two tight in my shoulders/upper arms/bust! Like, uncomfortably tight in shoulder area :( However, the dress itself is lovely, I especially like how the bag hangs it is very flattering. I like the short length - perfect with tights and boots. But alas it must go back. I think a large would be too big on the bottom I think (as I am already swimming in it) but that size isn't available anyway to try.
I thought I hated wearing wool but after reading positive reviews had to try this. I’m in love. I live in the deep south so this Rowena is a fall/winter dress but it’s amazing and I can’t wait for the new black ones to be in stock. Going through my closet and donating ALL the things because I really just want to wear these dresses. I will write a separate review on the Brooklyn dresses which I might love more.
