I bought a size up from my suggested size due to pregnancy shape fluctuations. I have a palette I adhere to strictly, and was very excited to see my solid green, usually hard to find, available in wool. I don't care for 3/4 sleeves, and am fairly active running after a toddler, doing house chores, or hiking, and want to prepare for when we can travel again post-pandemic so the length (paired with tights or bike shorts) is a good match. Ideally it would have been a couple inches to hit under the knee though. It doesn't spin like a circle skirt, behaving more like an A-line dress, but looks good either belted or unbelted. It spot cleans easily (necessary with a toddler). It does feel like it dries a little slower than my 100% wool Clara.
I get cold easily, so the temperature properties are very helpful for me (the more wool the better). It's currently winter, and I'm considering buying another one to wear as a shift under my other dresses. I just finished the Wool&Prince and the Wool& hundred day challenges this year, hence the affordability of this dress, and honestly it's a pain considering what to wear every day, so I might go back to wearing the same outfit every day for a week and changing it up on a weekly basis. I might slit the pockets and start using Elizabethan / 1700s style pockets because I need to carry things and a purse is a pain.
This pairs well with tights or bike shorts, and fits well with my standard docs. It will dress up or down easily with flip flops, or heels and a denim jacket with patches, cloak, or blazer.
>75% wool, pockets, correct shade of green, not too thick and not too thin (bra and underwear not fully visible through the fabric)
a little short, the pockets are a bit small for me (I can fit phone OR keys OR wallet, but can't carry all three in the two pockets) and are actually a woven black fabric instead of a matching colour, it's only available in long sleeves and I would have preferred a short sleeve with the skirt length, it's not 100% wool, size inclusivity is still in the works so I can't recommend to friends without caveats
It's true. I would like to wear this dress every day. It is so cozy and comfortable.
I love my dress. I am on day 13 of wearing my dress. I have only washed it once. It is perfect for the fall and will be great in the winter. Had I done it over summer the sleeveless dress would have been a better choice. I plan on getting the sleeveless one for the summer. I have gotten so many comments on my dress. The length is perfect. I ordered the longer one as I like my dresses just below the knee.
Back to the size. Sometimes I need XXL depending on the manufacture of the dress. The XL is wonderful and I perhaps could have even done a L. But I love the way it fits. I have a hard time taking a photo as my husband has vision issues.
I don't want to wear any dress for 100 days, but if I had to, this is the dress I would choose. I ordered the long (I'm 5'10") in size S in redwood and storm gray. Both are wonderful, neutral colors without being basic black. If you have autumn coloring, these are great colors. They coordinate with everything in my closet--hence I have worn both numerous times over the past 2 weeks. You can dress up, down, endless possibilities. We're headed south over the winter with our canoe and bikes and I'm taking both of these for on the road and off the river. They will be just perfect for southern winters and still great if we run into colder weather. This is a classic dress--it hits mid knee on me which is just perfect as I'm 73 and don't want short dresses. I wish you'd do a classic sheath with 3/4 sleeves in this longer length. I guess they're called pencil dresses these days, but it would be a great addition. Selfies aren't the greatest, but if you're tall with long arms & legs, this will show you how they fit. By the way, the fabric in my dresses is NOT sheer as another reviewer suggested. I love these so much I went over to Wool & Prince and ordered a shirt and briefs for my husband.
Love the style and length and color but the fabric is too sheer to wear alone. I live in a sunny, hot, humid climate so I don't want to wear leggings or a slip. The yoke fabric is doubled, if the entire dress was that thick it would be 5 stars and I would wear it daily.
