Love this dress. My husband didn’t believe it was really wool, because it feels like a soft tshirt. The size seems to run a little big - I got a L and I could have done a M - but in a loose drapey style like this it doesn’t make a huge difference. I’m on day 10 of my 100 day challenge. I do wish they had a short sleeve version of this because it’s not warm enough to wear without a sweater and leggings in the winter, but once it warms up the long sleeves will be too warm for a Texas spring, so I may not make it the whole 100 days.
I found the dress much thinner than expected but it was still good. I maybe need the next smaller size. Seemed too baggy however fit my arms well.
What a wonder! I love the fit, the feel and livability of this dress. I was rather skeptical of the "temperature regulating" claims people made about the wool. I'm always cold (in layers of cotton) and figured I'd be layering this dress all winter long, as light as it was. Was I wrong! I have not yet been "over-heated," but neither have I been cold -- even outside with just an insulated jacket on! I am wear my lightest cardigan over the dress (with leggings) and feeling so comfortable even on chilly mornings. After living through my winters all layer-ed up like the Michelin Man, my body can actually move! I can't tell you how much more bearable this makes our long mountain winters. I am attempting the 100-day challenge (only 10% through), and this is the only piece of clothing I know that I can imagine both lasting and loving that long.
This dress is simple, but with nice details like a beautiful back pleat. It is very comfortable, as the natural material is neither too hot nor too cool. I like the extra length of the long as I don’t think I would fee comfortable wearing the regular length.
After waiting more than 10 days for the dress to arrive, I am so disappointed!
I will be sending the dress back. I have to say I'm actually really disappointed in it. The fabric itself is lovely- though not as smooth as I expected. It catches on my fingers like microfiber. The seams are the itchy part! I'm a knitter, and I wear wool. All sorts of wool, not just the babysoft merino, but the scratchy stuff from Iceland. And my skin doesn't itch. But with the seams on this dress, I couldn't stop itching!
Also, I'm only 5' tall, so I should have gone with the regular length. But I wanted it to hit just below the knee. Unfortunately, the model heights are not indicated on the site, so I had no way to gauge the length. Alas, it hit me on the mid calf. Not a flattering look with a swing dress.
I wanted to give Wool& another try with the shorter Rowena, but all of the colors are backordered or sold out of the small.
I am participating in the 100 day challenge with a Plum Rowena Long. I'm having a blast! The color alters to accommodate and complement many shades of violet in my wardrobe. I'm on day 9, and nobody has noticed yet. I wear my dress for an average of 10 to 13 hours a day then hang it up overnight, I haven't washed it yet, and there is no smell to it the next morning except a nice, fresh scent. Everyone has been complimenting my pretty dress/shirt/outfit daily since I started.
It is such a comfy dress and for me, pockets are a gift! The fabric is light and moves so nicely. I'm not one of the 100 day wearers, but I could see taking just this on a 2 week trip and being very happy. My only change would be to make the "long" style a little longer - even 2 more inches. Then it would be perfect!
I’m on the sixth day of my dress. It’s the perfect attire! It’s so comfortable and stylish. It goes with all my jewelry (I have a lifetime’s collection) and also is beautiful with scarves or with no embellishments at all. I love the weight and feel of the fabric too. Perfect!
I hoped that the 100 day challenge would give me a distraction from these painful days, and I'm having fun with it. I was surprised at the light weight fabric, but like it. The large long is a tad too big, and a tad too short. The plum color goes with the rest of my wardrobe. I'm really enjoying being part of the facebook 100 day challenge page.
I like the style of the dress, and am happier with the color than I thought I would be. It is really more of a neutral than I anticipated. The fabric is lovely, and not at all scratchy. I wish it were 2-3 inches longer, though, and that’s why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
