I love this dress

Okay. "Modern red" isn't my best red, but if I wear it with the right accessories all is well. The large is big enough for me to wear over a turtleneck cashmere sweater, which I did the other day, but it also is okay without the underlay. I haven't washed it yet. It is well-made, moves nicely, and invites your individual interpretations and stylings. If I had someone to take my picture here I would, so you could see.

I'll order my next wool& in medium.

great but...

The Rowena is soft, lightweight, cozy and flexible. It is elegant and comfortable. But - it does not last long. A year in and there are three holes. This is my second dress, and the second time this has happened. It makes me very sad because I love the dress.

Maybe my expectations were too high...

I did the 100 day challenge with the dark green Rowena swing dress long.

I'm a minimalist and love the outdoors, so this dress seemed perfect for me. I was excited to wear the same dress everyday so I didn't have to decide what to wear every day and I didn't have to worry about it smelling bad. I was farm sitting for a friend when I did the challenge. And it was the middle of the summer in the southern heat and humidity. So this dress got very sweaty and lots of sun. I hung it up to air out and dry every night. I washed it once a week, even though it smelled bad by the middle of the week. Luckily I was the only person at the farm, so nobody had to suffer my BO. Near the end of the challenge, I went on a week long hike in the mountains. After a couple days it started stinking, but not nearly as bad as the polyester dress I've hiked in before. I washed the dress a couple times in the river and hung it out to dry overnight. It was always still damp in the morning (which is not surprising since it's wool). By the end of the 100 day challenge, the dress's lovely green color had faded and the shoulders were tinted orange with sun damage. I also mended a few tears, which is no big deal in my opinion.

What really disappointed me was that the color didn't hold up. I have another green dress that is polyester that has been worn at least the same amount of time as the wool dress and the color is still the same as when I bought it. The downside of the polyester dress is that it's stretched out already, whereas the wool seems to have kept it's shape nicely. Also, I like the look of the wool fabric better than the polyester.

In sum, the Wool& dress does not work for my active lifestyle. It seems it will work better for someone who is in air conditioning most of the time so they don't sweat much and the dress isn't subject to that much sun. Thanks to Wool&, I can buy another dress with the $100 gift card I got for completing the 100 day challenge! However, I will be saving my lovely wool dress for more special occasions. No more sweaty hikes and sun damage.

The attached pics are 2 showing the color change and 1 of me in the dress at the beginning of the challenge.

Sleeves too short

The sleeves on this needed to be at least 1” longer, preferably 1.5”-2”. In Minnnesota, I would only wear a long-sleeved dress this thin May-September. In a warmer climate, I could wear it April-May and September-October. I returned this—I would repurchase with longer sleeves. And my ideal version would be with fabric 3-4x as thick.

Thanks for your feedback, Annika! We have some thicker fabrics coming soon in long sleeved styles.

This dress fits me perfectly. I'm quite tall, so I'm glad I chose the longer option. I feel comfortable in professional settings and slouching around at home. Even though the dress is wool, the fabric is quite thin. I certainly need layers for colder weather.

Perfect wardrobe staple

I've worn this dress nonstop in the few weeks since I received it. The black dress is a great layer to build on for Autumn in Seattle: it is perfectly warm and snappy-looking with tights and a cardigan under my raincoat without adding any bulk. It's super comfy and and I really like the neckline (I usually go for a v-neck) and in general it's just very easy to style to get tons of use out of it. So far not even a hint of pilling and I am looking forward to getting many good years out of this dress. In the future I will probably go down a size and order the shorter version of this dress, but the fabric drapes so nicely that it isn't an issue.

Love

I got very into the idea of the 100 day challenge and ordered the dress. It took a while to arrive, so by the time it did I was feeling more skeptical I'd want to keep the dress, let alone wear if for 100 days. But oh my! I tried it on and fell in love immediately. I then wore it for 8 days straight until my son smeared yogurt all over my arm and it had to be washed. I have not kept up with the challege, but this dress has turned me on to the idea of majorly simplyfing my wardrobe. It fits well, is elegant enought to wear to the office and rugged enough to wear for a hike. The material feels midweight, I do wish it was a tad heavier for colder weather. I ordered size Long (I am shy of 5'10) and am so glad I did, regular length would have hit mid-upper thigh. I would order more if they were in stock!

Perfect

I can live in this dress every day! Light weight merino knit, perfect for year-round wear. Comfortable as my favorite t-shirt. Flattering fit for me. Oh, and I refuse to buy any dresses or shirts without pockets.

Cute and comfortable

I decided to go with the large so it wouldn’t be tight across my shoulders. It’s larger throughout the body but is drape-y enough that it doesn’t look sloppy.
