our Rowena Swing Dress comes with a few benefits
#wooland to be featured.
Love this dress; I have it in three colors now! The teal and black are fantastic, but the red is more of a rust color than I expected. A clear, bright red would be a nice addition to the colors offered. I was happy to find that the fine wool of the dress lays pretty nicely over blouses, but the neckline is still good without a layer underneath. The length is the dress’ best feature. I’m 56, and still like to wear short skirts — but there’s a fine line of appropriateness. This is short enough to look stylish; long enough that I can wear it without tights or leggings.
In the future, I’d be very interested in a wrap dress of the same length that somehow solved the problem of the gaping neckline. Maybe you could just offer a half-cami in the same fabric/color as the dress?
I have the Rowena in both medium and large. The neckline of the large is too wide for me. I have a larger-than-usual right arm, and the sleeves of the large are great. The sleeve of the medium is a little snug, but the neckline and fit of the medium are more flattering. I love the black one for versatility and the modern red for brightening up my wardrobe. It’s been over a year since I did the 100 day challenge and I still wear that dress 1-4 days a week. I have two other styles of Wool& dresses (which are also nice) but the Rowena is my favorite. The fabric, quality, style, versatility, wearability and comfort of this dress cannot be beat!
Love this dress. Easy return made it possible to get the right size -- not sure if that means they run big or not but I ordered a small long Rowenta which was too big in the shoulders and neck. Returned it for a Xsmall Short Rowenta which is a perfect fit. [No Xsmall in long dress]. Cinnamon true to color on my computer screen, though I wished it was a little more orange. Great dress. I wish I owned more!
I bought the Rowena in dusty blue, size XS, and completed the 100 Day Challenge. The fabric was everything Wool& claims -- soft, durable, easy wearing, easily launderable (machine was cold, hang dry), and the color was gorgeous and true to the pictures online.
The worst that can be said is that the cut of the Rowena did not flatter me in the slightest. I choose my size based on my bust measurement, but I really need a petite style for my frame (5'4'', 115 lb, 30C). The sleeves came down to my knuckles, and the pockets were below my hips, almost too low for comfortable access. The Rowena hung on my shoulders like comfortable sackcloth, and by far the best way for me to style this was barelegged with a belt, to balance out the shapelessness. I'm pretty sure I'm going to offer this for sale at a secondhand site, and I'll be honestly happy to not wear it again.
But. I just ordered a second Wool& dress in a different style that looks more petite friendly (Brooklyn).
My advice is to be ruthless when you try on this dress, and use the return policy if you're at all uncomfortable or unsure about the fit and the style!
Everything wool& claims is TRUE. I love my Rowena and am ordering three more. They’re going to be my new “uniform”!
I toyed with doing the 100 day challenge for months. I always found a reason not to such as the color I wanted wasn't available, etc. So glad I finally did it. This dress is as comfortable as a well worn tee-shirt but looks amazing. I had my husband pick the color (teal) as he was going to be seeing me in it a lot and I have gotten so many compliments from even guys in the office who have never noticed what I was wearing before. I got the large, as it seemed from other reviews that this ran big but I would have fit my normal size of extra-large just as well. With the smaller size I think it teams up better with jeans and leggings.
I bought this dress in Marine Blue (great color!) and loved it so much I bought another. This, I realize, is not really the point of wool& OR the 100 day challenge, but I do feel like I could keep these dresses for decades. I especially love the fabric. It's lightweight, but still has body. Some knits are so stretchy and clingy they are hard to wear as a middle-aged person, but this fabric is perfect! It has a bit of stretch, and is clearly wool, but not at all itchy. That being said, it's not a supersoft knit, but it's exactly what I was looking for.
I'm a big fan of the cut, as well. It's decidedly A-line, but so well fitted around the neck and shoulders that it still has style.
At 5'-4" I love the standard length with tights or leggings. I might feel like it was a bit short for work with bare legs, especially if I were any taller.
These dresses are really high-quality. Would highly recommend to anyone.
I got this dress to do the challenge in. I’m only into my second week. So far the thing I’m noticing the best about this is it’s ability to not retain odor. I went camping in a musty cabin and everything else reeked off musty smell after the weekend. This dress aired out over night and didn’t smell at all. I’m giving it 4 stars because I feel like the length is super dorky. I’d feel way cuter if it was knee length or just above my knee but it hangs at least 2 inches maybe 3 below. I don’t want it tighter in the bust so I didn’t get the large. I wish there were tall/short options within the sizing.
I really love this dress. It fits like a dream and it’s so comfortable.
Grand colors and style!
