Besides my typical everyday activities, I have worn Rowena for gardening, kayaking, hiking and camping. I am nearing my 100 day milestone and am ready to report my experiences and observations and tell you why I love my 100 day dress. I sew many of my own garments and was interested in seeing how Rowena was constructed and how the garment and fabric held up over time. The fabric and the stitching have not shown signs of wear or tear. Although some
customers have reported dissapointment at how "thin" the fabric is, it is a tight knit, very fluid, and has a lovely hand, all signs of quality fabric. It did not stretch out of shape or pill over time. The stitching has held up, even in high stress areas such as armholes and sleeve hems. The fabric dries very quickly. At first I was disappointed in the deep armhole but recognize that for a fuller bust this is necessary. Over time I came to appreciate that I had some roominess under the arms... less sweat directly on the fabric. The swing style belted well when I wanted a trim fit and was roomy enough to accomodate the bulk of either winter leggings or traditional hiking pants underneath. My favorite moment in my dress came when I was walking through a state park campground and another camper called out from his picnic table "Hello! Is that a 100 day dress?" Two of his neighbors were participating in the challenge. Kudos, Wool&. Word is getting around.
I love this. Beautiful fabric, well constructed... I will be ordering another piece. I cannot do the 100 day challenge because I am a farm girl living in the deep south..high humidity and mid-90's every day..But I love it! Fits great and hits right above the knee.
My black L Rowena was worn for over 100 days and is still in rotation. It was altered and shortened to tunic length but is still too big for me. It remains good for cold weather layering.
With this order I sized down to medium. It was fine across bust and shoulders but still excessive for my frame. Now, if I were several inches taller it would be perfect.
I kept the Maggie - it works beautifully!
I cannot believe how much I enjoy wearing this dress. It is lightweight and very comfortable. I went hiking in it and then wore it to a nice dinner out. Cleans fast and goes with anything. I like wearing it with the sleeves rolled into themselves when it’s hotter out and the flexibility to have them long when it’s cold. Can’t wait to wear it all year round!
I love this dress and I have already had lots of compliments.I was afraid it would be itchy or hot for Southern summers, but it is soft and ....perfect. My daughter is joining me in the 100 day challenge.
I got the Rowena Swing Dress. What a perfect find. The fit is great and the fabric is just the right weight and feel. I've been able to dress it up or down with accessories. Wish I could wear it everywhere and everyday.
I bought the Rowena in Black and Forest Night, then came back for Teal. I love the weight of this fabric. I did the 100 day challenge in the Mara, and also have the Sierra. I love them all. It fits as expected and I ordered them in long. I plan to wear as much as possible.
So far, I've worn this dress for 30 days and have only washed it once. I thought I would be embarrassed to wear this 100 days in a row, but I'm loving the freedom of knowing what I'm wearing when I wake up. I kind of feel bad for my other clothes that are getting neglected. No, not really. I can't wait to hit day 100 so I can order another dress. I love the Rowena I have now and plan on ordering a different color. I ordered the marine blue and get lots of compliments on it. The only thing I wished I had done differently is ordered a shorter sleeve. It took a while to come in, so I'm going to be wearing a long sleeve dress until August 1. About the elvish fabric (Lord of the Rings), the fabric has not pilled (under the arms) & doesn't seem to hold onto anything that I get on me.
I haven't changed up much on what I accessorize with it...if it was winter/cooler weather, it would be easier to use scarfs, jackets and sweaters. I usually just change up my earrings or necklaces.
I could wear this dress 365 days in a row and still love it.
Highly, highly recommend it.
Based on reviews I first ordered a size small and medium (I'm usually a s/m and 6/8) and they were both huge and swallowed my 5'3" frame so I exchanged for the xs. Even that size hits below my knees and has lots of room (I bought this in 2019 so maybe current versions run shorter). I kept it and it's very comfortable but I wish it were about 6 inches shorter. I see they offer long versions but if they offered a short or even better petite sizing I would buy more!
This is the first wool& dress and first wool dress I have ever bought and it will definitely be a staple in my wardrobe. The fit is classic and flattering, I love that I can wear the dress by itself and feel put together and not self-conscious because it hides my figure flaws. The material is lightweight and soft and extremely comforting to wear. I'm also really happy with the washed navy color and ability to pair scarves, cardigans, accessories, etc. It's probably my favorite item of clothing that I own.
