Love the fit and versatility of the dress and the feel of the fabric. Can't wait to start the 100 day challenge in a couple of weeks.
Love it. Fits perfect. Feels great. Absolutely wonderful.
I have been wearing my Sierra for a few weeks and love it. I have worn it while working in hot and humid conditions and not only did it not seem "hot", it simply did not pick up body odor. I washed it after wearing a week, but only because I thought I should. It's a great neutral in Charcoal grey and easy to pair with accessories. Today I am wearing a small tshirt underneath and sandals and feel perfectly ready to do just about anything.
This is my 5th dress and I already did the challenge. This is my reward dress. I can't say enough good things. I have worn it nearly every day since it arrived juys because I love it. The fabric I fantastic. I like the less flowy shape and I already want a second. I was afraid of no sleeves because I always wear sleeves. But I love this anyway.
I recently completed the 100 day challenge in the Rowena (which I loved!) so some of this review will include a comparison of the two. The material of the Sierra is soft and comfortable. I like the thicker terry cloth but it's still light enough and comfortable for summer in Michigan. The sleeve holes are big enough not to rub my arms but don't show my bra or gape the way a lot of dresses do. The terry cloth fabric isn't as flowy as the Rowena so it doesn't fly up in the wind or ride up my legs like my Rowena did. The long comes mid-knee on me which is easier for sitting modestly and walking without it riding or flying up. The large is a perfect fit and masks the weight I carry in my midsection well (I don't have a good waist for waisted dresses) without making me look like I'm in a sack. I loved my Rowena and I love this dress too. The day my 100 day challenge ended, I put on this dress and have been wearing it since. I'm already thinking of my third dress (probably a regular Maggie that I'll wear with leggings).
I received my Sierra Tank Dress 10 days ago and I've been wearing it every day since. Summer is coming and I needed an appropriate wool dress and this is perfect so far! I love how soft it is, and the material and pockets are sturdy. I got the heather grey color and it's great -- it'll go with different sweaters. I'll be coming back to wool& to get a long-sleeved, pocketed dress for winter.
Just a side note regarding wearing wool every day -- I was skeptical about this. How could wool not hold on to stink? I still don't understand the science about why this is the case, but it is TRUE and ASTONISHING. My dress doesn't get particularly smelly, but let me tell you -- I wear my wool leggings every day and when I give them the sniff test in the morning after hanging them up overnight, I am amazed that they do not stink. I wear them for weeks at a time. The thing that prompted me to wash my leggings last time was because I was around a campfire, and I felt grimy... I'm sure my leggings would've been fine without getting a spin through the washing machine. I didn't wash my dress at that point, and no problems. And the added bonuses of 1) not having to stress about what to choose to wear every day is liberating (smash the patriarchy!), and 2) I do very little laundry - just underwear and socks. I love it.
Super comfy and the Canyon Red is easy to accessorize. The only reason this is 4 not 5 stars is it’s a Long not Regular (because my size was sold out long ago) and the pockets are slightly too low for me. That said, I’m on the fence about shortening it because it looks and feels great anyway. It’s a little snug for layering, but I just ordered a M Regular in Charcoal Heather to be my jumper layer. Love my Woolies!
This is just a great dress. I like the soft feel of the terry fabric and the more substantial weight. I like that with layering, this dress could be comfortable to wear year round. It's also incredibly comfortable and flattering. The cool olive is very easy to coordinate with just about everything I own so I am very pleased with my purchase.
This is my first wool& dress, and I'm hooked! The fabric is substantial without being overly heavy. I've layered it a lot and always been warm in the cool Colorado spring we've had this year. I've also worn it for travel and been very comfortable the entire time. I was nervous about ordering down a size, especially because I'm pear-shaped, but am really glad that I did. The dress flows and is flattering. It relaxes a little and feels just right. And Cool Olive is a surprisingly versatile neutral!
I ordered a long because I was worried the regular would be too short, and I ended up having it hemmed about 1.5" - still longer than a regular would have been. Even though that was an extra cost at the tailor, it was worth getting my dress to look exactly right for me. This or my Willow are the clothes I reach for almost every single day - whether I need to look professional for work meetings or want comfort on a day when I know I'm heading to a tough therapy session. I'm stalking the page to see when I can order another Sierra in charcoal gray. Is it weird that I'm planning my whole wardrobe around these dresses now? If it is, I don't care! Simplicity, versatility, flattering to all body types, sustainable...I could go on and on. Highly recommend.
My only wool& purchases have been the Rowena Swing dress and I do like those light weight, versatile dresses. When I ordered the Sierra Tank Dress, I didn’t read the details, assuming it was the same fit and fabric, which it is not. The Sierra is a light French terry weave, so more substance and more “cover”. I needed to order up to what is my usual size in regular clothes, my Rowenas are a small but I needed a medium in Sierra. Even as a long, this barely reaches my knees, but I actually think the proportions are good. I’m 65 so certainly wouldn’t want any shorter. Pockets are awesome and more functional. Neckline and sleeves have a lovely soft band. I think this will be a great summer dress, but I’m also able to put a light long or short-sleeved t-shirt under it, and add leggings or tights for complete versatility. I bought this is the heather gray, and would consider a richer color if I truly do wear it year round. Great quality!
