It will be my little navy dress. I ordered a M which is my usual size but it was backordered so about a month and a half later I got the M. It was tight through the back and chest. I returned it and ordered the L. It fits better and is comfortable. I have not had an opportunity to wear a dress since I got it. I do a lot of outdoor walking and birdwatching and with the wind and cooler weather a dress has not been practical. It is very neat and looks nice with a long or short sleeved shirt under. I did lightly iron it to get the folded wrinkles out. It is regular length and I am not very tall so it comes below my knees. I usually can not wear wool but this seems very soft and did not make me itch when I tried it on and sat around the house for a bit. I will try to wear it soon and let you know.....
This is my dream dress for wearing over leggings. The length is perfect and the fit through the bodice is just right. I love the A-line shape, slightly swingy but not too much.
Yes, after enthusiastically anticipating this dress, it arrived. Within a day I knew I had to exchange it for a larger size because the armholes were snug) and I was amazed to have the corrected sized within 2 weeks. This is a Good Time Sierra. I’ve so enjoyed “meeting” my 50 years of accessories. Owning the dress is a game changer. I’m inching my way towards minimalism with a smile on my face and a story to share!
I had my doubts because I've been on the cheap clothes train for my whole life. But when it arrived, I felt like it will for sure last me for the next 100 days (and beyond). 1 week in, and here's my observations... First: I REALLY wish I had picked the longer version of this dress. I like short dresses, but on my 5'9" frame, this one is more like a mini dress and feels too casual even when I try to dress it up. Second: I'm not sure if it's my 9-Months-Pandemic weight gain talking or not, but I had hoped this dress would be a little more flattering than it is (especially considering the 100-day challenge). The triangle shape tends to just look a little bit tenty on me. It tends to bunch up in my crotch when I'm wearing leggings- not my favorite. I still feel like I'm trying to figure out how to accessorize it in a way I'm stoked about (though I am enthusiastic that I can).
I ordered the Sierra tank dress in Washed Navy (Regular length) on Dec 31st and received the dress on January 7th. I started the 100 Day Challenge that day. This dress is so versatile! It's like accessorizing a favorite pair of jeans. I wanted the tank style because I could layer under or over. I am 2 weeks into wearing the dress every day. I've washed it once. I still love it! Thank you Wool& for making a product that is kind to both the wearer and the earth! Kudos!!!
The fabric is nice and smooth and squishy, seems very durable. Pockets are perfect size and are solid enough to put a phone in. The neckline and armpits are perfect for me (not too tight or revealing). Length is perfect for me - top of knees.
The waist is a bit loose/undefined for my taste, would prefer a straighter torso shape and then flaring at the hips, I think this shape looks less flattering on me. This looseness also means that the dress poofs forward when I'm quickly rinsing a dish or working in the kitchen and touches the countertop when I don't want it too (I wear an apron for extended kitchen work but can't put one on for every kitchen action). So far I've solved this by layering a more fitted sweater or shirt over the dress for colder weather. (Written on Day 9 of hopefully 100 day challenge!)
I bought this dress because, working from home for the past 9 months really got me out of my normal routine and I was honestly lounging around in my pjs most of the time. Nooooot that there's anything wrong with that, but it was negatively contributing to my motivation. SO, I thought this dress was a great opportunity to introduce something comfy into my wardrobe that could be dressed up or down and become reacquainted with my closet. I've been participating in the #100daydresschallenge and I'm on day 12 of wearing this dress. I gotta say, I didn't expect something as little as getting dressed and accessorizing every day to walk into my home office would boost my mood so much, but it has!
This dress is a bit boxy, but you can easily achieve the shape you want with a belt. I even use a belt to shorten my dress sometimes by belting it around my natural waist and then tufting out the fabric just above the belt to bring the hemline up. The arm holes seem a little short, not tight necessarily, but I have more deodorant transfer in this dress due to the way the arm holes fit. Nothing a little pre-wash scrub can't handle though and it hasn't caused me any chaffing and I have *sensitive* skin.
Overall, it's a great staple piece and I love the versatility this piece provides. Did I mention the pockets?! They're a dream.
Love my Sierra Tank. Ordered a 2X as I do NOT like clingy clothes. It is very, very comfortable and I think I could have ordered a 1X. I did order the shorter version and it hits me in the middle of my knees. It's perfect for me! Looking forward to more sizes and dresses being available in the Spring! I will for sure order more! I am slowly moving my closet to minimalist/pod wardrobe and these will fit my color choices perfectly!
Keep up the good work Wool&!!!
Really surprised at how soft it is. Very comfortable. Would like a couple inches shorter since I did not get the longer version. Cleans and drys very nicely. Probably could have gone with Large.
Substantial, soft fabric. Laundered beautifully on permanent press setting and Woolite detergent. Dries quickly. Ordered a large. A medium might have worked, but plenty of room to layer tops underneath. Haven't tried drying it on low, that might make it a perfect fit.
