I tried Willow first, but didn't like the fit or fabric on me. Tried Sierra with trepidation, and am so glad I gave it a chance. I don't feel like I have an abnormally long torso, but the pockets could be just an inch lower. That being said, they're not distracting from the lines of the dress. I like this pocket style - putting a phone in my pocket doesn't pull the dress out of line. I would like an extra inch or two in total length - I would have gotten a long if it were offered in plus size. As the length is, I only feel totally safe with leggings underneath. But the fabric is perfect- no clinging or static and snuggly soft. I am comfortable saying this dress will be a staple long after the challenge ends.
Lovely soft fabric - freeing and fashionable. POCKETS, thank the Goddess. Well made and substantial. Looks as if it will hold up well. I've worn it seven times -- happily every time.
I worried about purchasing this because it's pricey, and the weather is hot and humid six months out of the year where I live (wool?) However, I've worn the dress (black) on four days in the two weeks since it arrived, and I'm very pleased. The length (regular) hits at the bottom of my knees, and the fabric has enough heft that it doesn't stick to underwear or my skin. It's flattering to my hourglass figure, and the armholes are cut high enough to cover a bra. It earns major kudos for having side-seam pockets that are stitched flat to the dress, so there's no look of added bulk to my thighs (a place that needs no added bulk!) I machine-washed in cold water and hung dry, and it was good to go. I'm considering getting one in another color. This one will be a 3-season staple in my wardrobe.
I now have 2 Sierras, and I can't remember what I did without them. (I also have 2 other styles) The ticker material is so forgiving, and it's so easy to dress it up for work. Love this brand!
The material of the dress is high quality. I like the big, deep pockets. I wore it in 90 degree weather and felt very comfortable. However, this dress is just too wide and is not swingy enough to be alluring/allude to a shape beneath. When I wear it with a jacket, I look even lumpier. I would probably not want to wear it in public as I don't like to wear belts. I might try to get it tailored to slim it down a little bit. I should have realized when I couldn't find anyone in the reviews with my height/weight that it is probably because anyone my size returned it.
I really wanted to love this dress. Alas, I find myself returning it because I don’t want to invest money into alterations.
The fabric is soft and thick. I loved where the hem hit, the arm holes were a flattering cut, the color was super cute, and overall it was a well-made piece of clothing… but the amount of fabric made it an overall unflattering dress on me. As someone with no shape, boobs, or natural curves, it made me look like I was wearing a trash bag. I tried styling it with belts and sweaters and whatnot, but with all the bulk nothing made it better.
Love how versatile and comfortable the dress is. It is comfortable enough to wear around the house, and so cute for work, and social gatherings.
This dress works fine for summer and will be equally fine with a T-shirt under it for winter. Sturdy weigh; cleans easily.
I had researched and drooled over the Wool& dresses for months. I really wanted to do the 100 day challenge but didn't feel right about buying new dress to do it. So I ordered the dress after I finished a 100 days dress in a dress I already owned from Prana, (100 wears of that dress left it thread bare and well loved) it was too warm because it was long sleeve and I often couldn't always make it through the day in it. Even though I live in the Arctic we keep our houses warm here! So after my Prana dress got reincarnated into the liners of some Bernie Sanders inspired sweater mittens, I finally felt free to buy the Sierra dress from Wool&. It was on back-order but I got it well before they said it would come. I was thrilled and started the 100 day challenge the next day.
I am 5'8" and 160 lbs the medium dress I got fits plenty loose I might have gotten away with a small but the top is snug enough I am ok with the medium. I wear it under a white coat at work and under a hoodie to the store, it pairs so well with my Piper leggings from Woolx. I will have to try the Wool& leggings after these loose their useful life. Because it is sleeveless and so flowing and loose I can wear it all day without over heating, when the house heats up and snuggle in it with a hoodie when the evenings are cool. Because of the fact I work in health care part time I wash the dress every time I wear it to work. I can get away with just spot washing it when I am just wearing it at home. The grey color is so nice and neutral I haven't had anyone who wasn't following my dress challenge on instagram mention I was still wearing the same thing.
I am trying to get my daughter, sisters and Mom to try this challenge it's so much easier to live without as much laundry, fussing about what to wear and trying to put an outfit together every day! I can wear this dress to work, to church, doing errands and all still do yoga too. At least in Alaska I don't feel over or under dressed at any event. Wool& please make a challenge for guys too so they can get in on the fun!
Great flow, very easy dress to wear. Fabric does not cling.
