What a great dress! It's lighter weight than expected, and fits great - the cut and rouching does nice things around my waist where I need the most help. Where I live winters are very harsh, so I see this as a mild-weather dress, with or without layers.
When I ordered this, it was immediate love - great fit (albeit on the tighter side relative to other items from Wool&) and beautiful color and fabric. But then two things happened. First, I wore it to a work event and one of my colleagues/friends noted that it was incredibly thin in back. It’s double layered in the front but shows every fricken bump and panty line in the back. Ugh. I reached out to Wool& and they said because it had been worn it was ineligible for return which was frustrating. They suggested reselling it on Facebook…i have neither a Facebook account nor the time/interest to sell stuff online.
So I decided to keep it (ugh). I washed it by itself for the first time in case of dye leaking. Then the second time i washed it, it leached color and completely ruined two of my other Wool& shirts. One was relatively new and a light color - it came out of the wash a dingy blue grey. The other shirt was forest green, and it now has odd streaks of blue. Both refuse to be restored to their original colors, no matter what I do.
I washed the dress in the sink the next few times and each time the water was left a blue-green color. It’s crazy to me that it’s STILL leaking dye. It wouldnt be right giving it away or selling it, because I’m worried it would damage other peoples’ clothing. So it just sits in my closet until I have the guts to throw away a ~$140 dress that ruined another ~$160 worth of shirts. Ugh.
Hi Hannah, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear the Tulip dress has not worked as well as you hoped! Please give our helpdesk a shout, we would be happy to help troubleshoot the dye issue you are experiencing. We look forward to speaking with you!
This is my 3rd Wool& dress. I’ve got a Rowena in marine (XL), a Sierra Tank in black (L) and the Tulip in black (2XL). The Tulip fits well and is more professional looking when worn alone (IMO). I’m currently completing the 100 day challenge in my Sierra and was going to get the tulip as my reward dress but saw it was clearanced and thought it was going to be removed. I hope they add more colors and keep the tulip!
I slipped on my Tulip, sized up from my XS to a Small, to avoid too much cling, and it is perfect! A slinky sheath that drapes my form just right.
The rouching on this dress is it’s secret. It’s body skimming but Very flattering and elongating. I want to get this in a few colors! Layering will
Be a snap.
