It's 85 degrees here, and the dress is extremely comfortable. When I wore it the first day I thought 'Oh! this is great, I want one in every color...' But that's not the point, is it? I'm now on day 4 of the 100 day challenge and loving the dress.
So nice on, to touch, feel and wear !
I ordered the Willow in black, size Small. The fit and fabric were nice but I felt the dress was too short to be worn as a dress, so I retuned the regular length and ordered the long version. My only complaint about the dress is that the pockets are high and bulky and make belting the dress a problem. There is just too much fabric at the waist. Even so I was pleased enough with the Willow that I ordered the Rowena in charcoal, staying with the shorter length this time to wear with leggings. I can definitely recommend Wool&.
The dress is thinner than it looks in the pictures but the drape is lovely. I’ve worn mine 6-7 times without washing and it is awesome. It doesn’t harbor smells and food and smears just dust right off!
Neckline: I was worried the neckline would look stretched out, but it is really flattering. I’m a large breasted mama and not only does it consistently maintains it’s shape, but it never slips low - it’s a perfect modest cut.
Season: This is a good dress for shoulder seasons. Being from MN, it will prob need to be layered come winter. If you’re in moderate climes, this will likely last you all winter.
Material: I’m amazed at how thin and soft the material is. Wool has always made me insanely itchy - but not this!!
Body temperature: I tend to “run hot” and frequently have hot flashes, but I never feel uncomfortable in this. When I get too warm, I usually peel off my leggings and I’m good as new (which tells me I prob should get some wool leggings!)
Length and fit: I originally got the Long XL, based on others’ recommendations to size down. I found that not to be the case. The long XL fit more snug and looked ok, though there was a strange buckling at the hips where the pockets are. And when I sat, the dress slid up in a way that would have definitely resulted in a peep show. I ordered the Long XXL, and it’s perfect - the length is great even when sitting. It doesn’t buckle much around the pockets, and it’s still fitting enough at the top to not look dumpy.
Given that I'm retired and most days never leave my house and yard, I'm not sure wearing this dress for 100 days straight is really feasible. On the other hand, I have been pondering it. The dress is that comfortable and dresses up with all sorts of accessories.
I have long legs and this hit about 3" above the knee. I got the blue and love the color and the cut. The only thing I would change is that the fabric is much thinner than I expected. Similiar to my Gap tees I would say. Since I live in Minnesota, I was hoping for something a little heavier. The sheerness of the fabric also means it clings just a bit in places I wish that it wouldn't. For such a loose fitting dress, I was hoping shapewear wouldn't be necessary, but it is. (I am pear shaped.)
Loved the drape of this dress but decided to exchange it for a style with long sleeves rather than 3/4 sleeves as winter approaches. The medium was snug through the shoulders. It looked nice, but decided to order up to a Large since I’ll be wearing it every day and want to be comfortable!
I have several Wool@ dresses, some very cozy and others more professional looking. Willow might be my favorite because it is perfect for both ends of the spectrum. Love the V neck as well! You may wish to size up if you have heavier arms or shoulders. I bought the long version.
I wore this bad boy to the Seattle Space Needle for cocktails and charcuterie and it did wonderfully! We took some roadside electric scooters to get there and also strolled the docks at the waterfront, the dress was the perfect length, I never worried about the strong breeze or the scooter ride, and it was still fancy enough to wear for a date(I wore it with knee high boots)
