This is my 2nd Wool& purchase. I was hoping for this material to be as pet hair resistant as the striped material was. (What is your secret w that? I want a couch made of it!) I suppose that was too much to ask. The cut is comfortable and very flattering, especially given my menopausal/COVID gain. This black can be somewhat see-though, however. It is comfortable in 65 degrees for this northerner even w a slip or cami/ leggings on, however. I probably could have been ok with a large, but the xl is ok too. I will probably purchase a tank or short sleeved dress next.
I’ve worn my Rowena Swing Dress almost every day since it arrived in September. I started out participating in the 100 day challenge, but couldn’t remember to take a photo every day. Even so, I loved the idea and have worn this dress almost every single day for six months. I’ve only washed it three times. I love it. One update is that after six months of near daily wear, the fabric at the elbows has become thin and you can see skin through it. I mostly wear the sleeves pushed up to 3/4, so it’s usually not noticeable, but wanted to mention. Otherwise, it washes and dries perfectly, never smells, looks great for any occasion. I’ve ordered another, this time the V-neck, 3/4 sleeve style, and will keep a couple of these dresses in my (minimal) closet for a long time to come.
I ordered the willow swing dress in black a few months ago and due to shipping delays it only just arrived. I love it though! It's the kind of dress that never dates but always looks lovely. I like that it's comfortably fitted around the arms but loose at the waist--it makes it so comfortable but also flattering in pictures and easy to layer. I've worn it around the house (a lot), out shopping, and even on a day hike. Just perfect! This is probably an odd color request but I would LOVE this dress (or the rowena) in a soft cream color--I think it would be such a great basic for all seasons, but especially spring and summer as a neutral alternative to black.
So I am halfway through the 100 day challenge, and my opinions about this dress have changed a little. First the fit.. I love the top, the neckline, and the 3/4 sleeves. I feel like the whole top of the dress is extremely flattering. The bottom of the dress not so flattering on my pear shaped figure. So for me, I would NOT wear the dress alone.. I think it looks dumpy. I love the material and my color (Lapis blue) is beautiful and goes with everything. It is a very light, thin material and feels like a thin exercise shirt. The dress is also easy to maintain.. cold water wash every 10 days or so and then air dry overnight.
But here is the reason I love this dress.. it is the most versatile layering piece I have ever owned. It literally goes with everything It looks great as a top, great as a tunic and great as a skirt. I love getting dressed every morning. I love puling random pieces out of the closet and discovering they look great with the dress. I would recommend this dress, and the challenge to anyone.
Love the dress - I can't usually wear wool - this isn't scratchy at all. Lighter weight than I expected. A bit clingy. I want it in black but it's always sold out. Love thew blue though! I could have gone a size up, but I'm working on getting my weight down. Fit perfectly, and will still look great when I lose more!
I did the 100 day challenge with the Rowena dress and really liked it. However, the neck is a bit wide for me and my small shoulders (all my bra straps show, no matter what kind). I love v-necks and love the swing style so I knew Willow would be a good addition to my wardrobe. I love it! The neck and shoulders are perfect for me! This is my third wool& dress and I believe this will complete my capsule wardrobe.
By the time I paid for international postage, handling, import duties and sales tax I had not expected, the dress turned out to be more expensive than I think it is worth, but time will tell. The material feels smooth and supple, and I'll take your word that it's mostly merino, but it looks like a mercerised cotton T-shirt fabric. I had hoped for a more "woolly" feel and weight. It clings without an underskirt and it needs layering for adequate warmth in winter. The fit is OK, but the angle at which the sleeves are set in causes the whole dress to hitch up if you raise your arms. So long as you don't need to do that the style is flattering to any figure and comfortable to wear. The plum colour is lovely. Here's hoping the dress will become a favourite, and that if I want to re-order your European outlet stocks all styles and colours so I can order from there.
This dress is a delight. It fits perfectly and the plum is beautiful - and darker than shown, which is a bonus for me. I wore the Rowena -size S for the 100 Day Challenge. The Rowena was a bit loose on me, so I originally ordered an XS in the Willow due to the v-neck, but it was too snug. Return and exchange was fairly quick, but with a few anxious moments as they were sold out in the plum and I had to wait for a restock. I love the 3/4 sleeves on the Willow. I'm petite, and the Rowena sleeves were too long, but the Willow, it is great. The only down side is the neckline. It fits great, but the wider band gives it a little more of a "sporty" vibe than the Rowena. Oh, and just like the Rowena, it is loose and lovely and not clingy on my middle. Hooray!
I have the Rowena long and decided to get a regular Willow to pair with leggings. Same great fabric, no itch and holds up great in the laundry. The v-heck is very flattering. I like a looser fit and medium is great for me. I have both dresses in black and love the versatility.
I’ve been wearing the dress for 6 days now. The color is beautiful. The fabric is light and smooth, but not really soft... more like workout material. The dress fits well on top , but the swing bottom and length is not that smattering on my body shape. Layering or adding a belt helps. I really like the pockets.
