fantastic travel dress!

After looking at this dress online for a LONG time, I finally decided to splurge and buy it and I am really glad I did.
+ It has been FANTASTIC for this trip I am on, to a North African country where modest dress is important but it's also HOT. The dress has held up well through a lot of sweat, a lot of walking around, and a lot of meetings in a conference room. I've worn it as "business casual" with a professional open cardigan, and as a casual dress by itself. I honestly would lounge and sleep in it too, if I didn't feel like it had a lot of city grit on it.
+I want to invest in more sustainable clothes but am generally afraid of spending so much on one thing when I know I have a tendency to stain things quickly. I've been really impressed by *so far, cross fingers* this dress's ability to recover from my shaky hands - so far I've dropped both tea and honey, not to mention many crumbs of various levels of greasiness on it -- and with a little water (sometimes also soap) its been able to bounce back.
+ pockets!
+ for me it is the PERFECT length- down to my ankles so I'm completely covered, but not dragging in the street. Awesome.

The ONE thing I wish this dress had was some way to adjust the waist. I have small breasts compared to the rest of my frame (big belly, thick waist, thick thighs, etc), so that means that maybe I don't fill out the top like some people might, and as a result the waist of the dress falls down lower than my natural waist, at a sort of unflattering part of my belly curve. This means that without some kind of other accessory it kind of looks like a comfy sack. If I cinch it a little tighter, at my natural waist, it looks great. I've been wearing a belt with it to solve this problem and fortunately the drape is beautiful no matter where the waist is taken, but I wish there was a way to do it without an additional accessory in a different color. If future versions of this dress had either (a) a way to internally tie or cinch the waist a little more, like a hidden drawstring or internal elastic cinch, or (b) a belt that comes with them in the same color, like some wool& dresses have, I think that would allow for the dress to better fit a variety of torso shapes in a more flattering way. Please don't change anything else though! This dress is awesome!!!

The more I wear it the more I like it

It is a nice dress. I am trying the hundred day challenge in it and originally though I would hate it after the third day but I actually like it more and more. The fabric is lovely - draped and temperature adjusting.
I give it a 4 star rating for a couple of reasons. One the elastic in the waist could be more robust. Two, I am a 76 year old pear shaped woman and so in getting the skirt right the top comes off a bit large. Getting the top right (II assume) would make the skirt less flowy.
I would love this style as a midi and I would love a berry or warm color and maybe a light gray.

Also I would have liked it to be more on the teal side but I get a lot of compliments on the color so what do I know? Really, it’s a great dress overall.

We're so glad you're liking your Marin! We really appreciate this amazing feedback.

Size down if petite!

I bought this is small initially (my usual Wool& size) and hated the way it looked. I read someone else’s review though that they sized down… with free exchanges, why not! Well, this dress is a winner! I feel so glamorous in it. It might be my new favorite Wool& dress!

Great all around dress!

It's hard to write a review since I love so many of wool& dresses. This hits many of my needs that the other dresses could not. I like to travel and needed a dress that was longer, covered my shoulders and did not look like a bag. This fit my needs perfectly plus so comfortable. I can hike in Sierra and Maggie but Marin is wonderful for grocery shopping, dinner out, hanging out with friends, or going to a country that requires some coverage. I love the cool feeling of the maxi skirt, the not too deep neckline. Pacific is more green than I had hoped - any chance for Agean teal? Surprisingly the pacific has been great with my washed navy, black and marionberry. Yes the waistband is not perfect as other reviews have stated but none of us are built the same. It is close enough to use a belt and disguise if it is off but can look great without the belt. Great dress.

Perfect Dress for Summers on Campus

This is one of my new favorite dresses. I work at a university and commute about an hour each way combined walking and public transportation. This dress is perfectly breezy, professional enough for our campus dress code, and so easy to layer when the air condition is set to "simulate Antarctica". I can comfortably wear leggings and/or a cami under and/or a sweater/cardigan over without feeling like my movement is hindered. I was worried it might be too long, and I'll probably have it hemmed up 1.5", but it's comfortable and classy as is. Most of my height is in my torso, and the waist hits just right for my preferences/figure. 32" x 25" x 36.5", 28.5" inseam
