I got a beautiful deep red/purple brooklyn from the mystery sale that I think corresponds to plum. The sizing is smaller than my long length pacific brooklyn also in M started at that I shrunk to fit better, suggesting it was inadvertently made something of a 1/2 size. Because of that, it fits perfectly. I just adore the color and style!
I got this dress through the mystery sale so I knew going into it that it would be a gamble. That being said when I opened the package I was excited because it was a very pretty blue with a purple ish hue. I generally like wrap dresses as well even faux wraps. This particular dress was a disappointment, the top is huge, I’m usually a size small, but my top is a 30dd or 32 d and there is so much extra fabric. And the waist just looks weird, not quite sure what the issue is. Tried it ‘reversed’ and I’m 90% sure somebody just decided to throw that out there as some sort of marketing gimmick because it was choking me. I don’t know how that works given how much extra fabric was on the v side. And then onto the material. It was soft but it felt rather thin. Overall between the fit and the material (and maybe somewhat the blue color even though I liked it) it gave the feeling of a hospital gown or scrubs turned into a dress. My sisters first comment was that it looked like I got it from Costco. I gambled and lost
We're sad to hear that you were disappointed by your Mystery item! We know that participating in the sale is a risk, and we're really sorry it didn't pay off this time. We hope you'll stick with us!
I bought a dress on the mystery sale and I got this one. I know why it’s included in the mystery sale…Yikes!
We are so sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your Mystery purchase! We hope you can find a way to alter or pass on the garment in a way that makes you happy.
This is my first wool piece ever, and at 4 days of wear, I am loving Brooklyn! I appreciate the elastic waistband of this fit-and-flare style; it brings attention to the smallest part of me, preventing a "boxy" look. I bought my typical size--XL--even though only my chest measurements fell within that size on Wool&'s size guide. My waist and hips were just a smidge bigger than the XL recommended, but the bottom drape is forgiving enough that I am happy with the fit. Brooklyn is so light; I have been comfortable in the Louisiana summer and have had no body odor smell so far, despite not washing yet. I have worn Brooklyn both frontwards and backwards and love having that option during this 100-day challenge! I do wish there were pockets to rest my hands in...though I do like the smooth lie of the skirt because there are no pocket openings or seams. I chose Plum mainly because it was in the Warehouse Clearance section and saved me a few dollars, but it is a beautiful maroony purple that works with my color palette.
Brooklyn is a great dress! I love the color selection and the option to wear it backwards. I think it can easily be dressed up, made more casual or even just worn on its own. I’m 5’3.5” and went with long because I like dresses to hit right above my knee and this was the perfect length. I sized down to what the size chart said and it was perfect. The color pacific is gorgeous. The sleeves are very flowy and airy, as is the skirt, making this a great dress for summer best but also easy to layer in the cold. I just wish this dress had pockets!
