This is a very pretty skirt that can span the seasons. I bought it in two colors. I could have gotten away with a small but am keeping the medium.
The biggest (and best!) surprise of the 2023 wool& additions to my wardrobe. It wasn’t until I got Francis and started playing around that I realized she works with almost every single item in my wardrobe. So far, I’ve layered Francis over Chloe, Audrey, and Lola.
The length works well for me, but may be closer to a midi length on taller individuals. The waistband is thick, which gives the skirt a more structured feel than I expected with the jersey material.
I was hesitant about investing in a wool skirt because I am primarily a dress gal, but I had found myself missing the maxi skirts I wore as a young teen. So I had been looking for some sort of natural fiber maxi. I am so glad I tried this one! It is so silky soft and although I thought I wouldn’t be able to wear it until fall because of the heat and humidity I found it actually isn’t bad on some of the slightly cooler summer days! (About 70-90 degree days!) I was hoping that it wouldn't be too clingy or look thin, it wasn’t! And the elastic band is exactly what I was looking for! It isn’t too tight, doesn’t feel twisted, and it is a nice width! I would really love to see this in more colors though, especially a viridian green, rust, black, or goldenrod yellow! I am usually a size 20/22 or 1-4 XL, sizing is so over the place! I would love to see this in larger sizes as I needed the largest and several friends and family were interested but their size was unavailable.
My Francis skirt just arrived! I really wanted the Rita because I prefer a pencil skirt, but it was sold out in L, so took a chance on this one instead. I just bought 3 pairs of Levis' in 8. I normally wear a M bottoms L top from most manufacturers, but I followed the size chart-provided by Wool& with help from the reviewers. My measurements currently are 41-31-41, so I ordered an L, and it fits fine. It's very comfortable in the waist, lots of room, and it flows and drapes over my hips. I've tried it on with several of my Morgan tops, and It looks good with them and a pair of slingback heels. Still shopping for a new pair of low heel boots for travel, and I hope will look good with it too. The skirt is just a little heavier than the tops. I'm hoping some tights and boots will help it transition to fall. I would consider getting another in Plum for alternatives to my travel wardrobe.
