My feelings are “fair-to-good” about these pants. They are comfortable, and I like the weight. I believe they will be very durable. I have a job where I have to do quite a bit of lifting and bending, and so forth so they work well for that. I have washed them, and they dried amazingly fast on the line, wrinkle free. The thing I really don’t like is the waist band. Others have commented on this, and I’ll add that, for me, I find it uncomfortable on my waist. Scratchy. I am wearing these with a camisole tucked, which does solve that problem for me. I like the pants enough to keep them and get good wear out of them, but I would be reluctant to buy another pair because of the cost.
Hi Rebecca, thank you for your review. We are happy to hear the Mazama Pants are working well for you! We appreciate your feedback on the waistline and have passed it along to the team.
Not sure what I was expecting, but these are very comfortable. I have worn them on a 100 degree day and was not too warm snd they’re heavy enough to be a good choice on winter days too. The canvas fabric has just the right amount of stretch and the darts really do help with flexibility at the knees. Those front pockets are large but lay flat and I love them-great place for your phone. Zippered back pockets are very nice, but I don’t use them much. The wide waistband is very comfortable-elastic in the back does tend to curl and I hope they are able to fix this issue in the future (but it is not so objectionable that I would return them). Length is perfect for me-full length rather than ankle length because of my height. Most expensive pants I’ve ever purchased and I don’t regret my choice.
There is much I like about these pants: they're relatively lightweight, I like the stoney gray color, the front pockets are deep enough to safely stow my phone while I'm standing or walking and the two small back pockets have zippers which adds to the safety of storing cash, I.D or credit card in them. I love the stretch to these pants- they move with me and are so comfortable. They make a lean profile under my wool& dresses or tops but don't look like leggings.
There are a couple things that annoy me about the pants: the back elastic waistband twists and turns and will not stay flat. Another woolie has suggested a simple couple rows of stitching that I will try as my love for the pants outweighs this annoyance. They are snugger than I'd expected. I'd hoped for a slightly looser fit (and I sized up) due to their snug fit they're really too warm for me in the summer and I'd hoped to be able to wear these as leg protection from the voracious mosquitoes. They aren't quite long enough (my height is in my legs and these only barely graze my ankle bones).
Perfect fit, love the high rise and cropped length. I feel like these pants need to be in everyone's wardrobe at home and for traveling b/c these pants are very versatile for styling up or down.
I have been looking for some travel pants and I’m really hoping they fit the bill. I’ve worn them a couple of times and they look nice and feel very comfortable. I washed them once and they didn’t appear to shrink much in the length. The real test is whether they bag after a day or two of traveling!
