I bike commute and the Frankie has me getting work cool/ not sweaty, and without worries of my dress riding up.
I have two pairs - one to wear and one to wash/ dry for the next day.
These shorts are great. I haven't had them long enough to speak to the durability, but the fit and style are exactly what I wanted. I suspect I'll be wearing them most days this summer.
These were not a good fit for me. The waist was way , way too high. I’d like to see a low-waisted style.
Frankie bike shorts are P E R F E C T. The stay in place, no static, cool and so very comfortable!
I bought these bike shorts to wear under dresses and skirts in the summer ( especially to wear under a wrap around skirt that might blow open!!!).
I originally ordered a large because I didn’t want them to fit tight like Spanks, or other compression styles. I had to send them. Ack and ordered a medium, which is my usual size. The medium is perfect; not too loose and not too tight.
Should have gone with XS so the waistband feels loose. Still, i love the just right coverage. I can work in the garden in my short sierra without flashing everyone.
Perfect under a dress. Fits great, high quality, and can be work multiple times without getting stinky. Highly recommend!
I’m a big girl and have trouble finding comfortable shorts and leggings. I’ve tried a few different merino brands, but these are hands down the most comfortable. I love the lightweight and wish that Wool& would make capris and leggings of the lightweight variety—apparently they’re only available in mid-weight. What I love about them is that they are high waisted with no attempt at a control band (YAY!!)—I don’t need to conceal my body, I just want to be comfortable, and these shorts are just the ticket. They also don’t have side pockets (not every woman wants pockets—especially when they stick out at the widest part of her body!). I bought the 2x which are a tad bit big, but still okay. I did purchase the 1x as well and they fit, but are (fresh out of the package) snug, but not uncomfortable. The length is perfect, the legs don’t ride up, nor do they cut into my thighs. How about more colors???
I have another pair of merino underwear shorts, and I absolutely love how comfortable and breathable they are…but they aren’t practical to wear under clothes (which is the point of underwear). They’re a little too short and no where close to fitted, so while they’re awesome to sleep and lounge in, they ride up under loose clothes and leave visible lines under fitted. The Frankie short actually works as underwear, though there’s a small sacrifice in comfort/breathability. That’s to be expected since only a merino blend is going to lay flat all day. They’re comfortable but might be too warm for me in summer, and some people might find them itchy if they struggle with wool/wool blends. Last note, I wish the secret pocket was in the back (or not there at all). I get that some people are using these as bike/exercise shorts, but it’s not what I want in underwear. It doesn’t show or bother me once the shorts are on though—it just makes pulling the shorts on a little weird (I forget it’s there and my hand gets caught in the “excess” fabric). It’d be really great if wool& came up with a summer/ultralight version of this shirt that ditched the pocket. Having 1-2 of each of those and these Frankie shorts would be 👌🏻
these shorts are really comfortable, but not opaque on my curvy frame. i couldn't wear these on their own in public-- BUT they are incredible under dresses and do a great job of preventing chafing.
a large might fit my thighs/butt better and be less see-through, but might be too big in my waist. (i'm about 41" hips, 32" waist, if that is helpful)
not exactly what i was hoping for from these shorts, but i'm keeping them anyway! i may order a large to try out and see if that works for me and have two different sizes for different purposes. i wore the M for multiple days in a row with no issues, didn't stretch out, no odor.
