Wearing the dress right now for the third day. Changing the scarf, necklace, or put a light vest over etc to give it a look that is quite dramatically different. Love the pockets. Only issue I have is that I found the shoulder to be quite tight and snug. The material stretches so it is wearable, But if I had tried this at a store, I would have probably hesitated due to the fit at the shoulder. For as roomy as the rest of the 'make' of the dress, felt a bit odd that the shoulder was snug. It is likely just me. I do have a broad shoulder but not excessively so. Have you heard from others with this issue? But I do like it over all. I also like this length. The hem falls right at the knee. One additional positive, believe it or not, I had to wash it already once, due to my own mess (food!). Came out at the end of the spin with very little moisture. Laid flat to dry,,, and dried very very quickly. Just patted the wrinkled spots with hands and dried nicely without any need for ironing. Since I travel very frequently both domestically, and internationally, (reduced flights now due to COVID19, but still having to travel some) I have a few things that I pack based on ease of hand washing/drying, lightness of the material, no-iron needs, etc that this dress would be added to one of those 'travel selections' in my closet. I can't wait to travel on an extended trip with this dress to see if I can wear it everyday for meetings without others noticing. This is not the first time that I wear merino wool piece. On my long stretch of work trip in NZ last year, I discovered the luxury of merino wool products. So, it did not take long for me to be convinced that I would probably like this dress. Simple flare, draping is quite sweet. I will keep an eye on this shoulder issue to see if it resolves over time.
I decided to combine two challenges at once during the quarantine: the Project 333: The Minimalist Fashion Challenge and the 100 Day wool& Challenge. While contemplating what a minimalist closet looks like for me, I figured being limited in my choices through the wool& challenge would help. I'm in love with this dress. The length lends it well to activities with two active dogs and a toddler. This dress has seen me through baking, hiking, dancing, working (from home 5-6 days a week) and gardening. I live in Alaska, so I need something that can adjust to crazy a** weather at a moment's notice. The day started out sunny, but got windy and foggy? I'm covered. It's raining, and then suddenly snowy? Still good. It's a freakishly warm 52degF -- still comfortable. I love it. I will be buying more dresses, in this style and others. I'm a little leary of the length in some of the shorter styles, but I'm willing to risk it. I love the sustainable fabric, the easy care, and the flexibility of the garment. Well done, wool&. Well done.
I have wanted to buy a Wool& dress for over a year, but at 5'11" wanted to wait for the longer length option to become available. I found my way back to the site a few weeks ago and found that the Rowena dresses were now longer and available to purchase. I decided to order a canyon red version and cross my fingers that it would work to wear on our Easter. The dress arrived and it is perfect. I love the fit, the feel, and the color. I am an Orthodox Christian and many Russian women wear red dresses on Easter, so getting all decked out in this frock made me feel a little more connected to other women celebrating this Feast of Feasts from our homes instead of our churches.
I purchased the Rowena swing longer length and was way too long - went to midcalf on me. I chose the longer length because the standard length on the models looked quite short. I’ve returned it and will try the standard length next.
This is a great dress. The fabric is fantastic and very durable. I have already worn it for 2 weeks and have not needed to wash it. I think it is a very versatile dress. You can dress it up or down. It hits me 2-3 inches above the knee. I have the gray and it goes with everything. I wear leggings under it or as a dress. It is way to much fabric to put into jeans to wear it only as a shirt so I definitely don’t think that is an option. But I think it will be a dress I always travel with as it is good for everything and comfortable.
