Dress it up, or Just Wear It! It can keep up with just about everything. I am aways happy to find perfect traveling dresses too! Mission Accomplished!
When I received the dress and tried it the very first time, I immediately realized that it will work perfectly with many tops that I already have. I decided to join 100 days challenge. So far it's day 9 for me and I really enjoy "creating" new outfit for a day. The fabric is soft and non-itchy on your bare skin. I bought long version of Sierra dress because I wanted to have warmer dress for the winter. I washed it once on "wool" setting on my washer. I put it on a hanger , and it was completely dry in the morning. I recommend this dress to anybody, but especially to those who, like me, is coming from the pants-and-tops wardrobe. You'll find the use for most of your tops. Enjoy!
I ordered the Sierra Tank dress, medium, washed navy in the long length. It took a long time to receive it - 3 months. When I opened the package and tried it on, I knew it was too big. It was 4 inches below my knees and a little big around the arms. I didn't want to have to wait another month, so I decided to keep it and use for a jumper.
I can't say it looked great on me, but my husband liked it and that's what counts the most. I wore it mostly at home, but also to church and camping.
I was pretty hard on it and snagged it a couple of times and so it has little holes I need to sew up. I washed it about every 7 days, which is probably a lot, but that's what I needed to do. I also spilled some hydrogen peroxide on it, so there are 2 spots that are lighter blue. I might try to dye it, but I don't want to make it worse.
All in all, it was a good experience. I wore the dress 100 days, but missed some of the photos. I think I will order another Sierra Tank in a small. The sizes definitely run larger than normal, because I never wear a small in anything. I will order a long and then if it doesn't fit right, this time I will send it back until I get the dress and fit I like, even if it's months. Hopefully the next one won't take so long.
This is MY dress. I love every single thing about this dress. Versatility, quality, durability, style, function. Will wear long after my 100 day dress challenge is over. In fact, will most likely get another!
I wanted to do the challenge in winter, as wool doesn’t seem like a good idea here, otherwise. I got my third choice dress, and will likely dye this gray dress to be a blackberry color after Christmas. It’s highly versatile, and I’m wearing all my colors with it, but I love a colorful base layer! The fabric weight is perfect. The cut does make me look slightly heavier than I am. (Family have verified this when pressed…) A belt or slimmer top worn over the dress help with that. Lovely piece!
After wearing Fiona, Ellie, Willow, Rowena, and Summer Midi, I think Sierra is the most versatile.
Warm in cooler weather and cooling in summer.
Tshirt over or under makes this truly year round dress. If I had to just have one dress, Sierra would be it.
I chose Charcoal Gray and hands down this dress is my go to dress on a daily basis.
I love my dress. The shape is perfect, the fabric is sturdy, it's lightweight but not too much, it's easy to wash, it looks great in so many situations and it's just so comfortable! I bought the Long version to cover my knees even though I am so petite that things usually hang low on me. I'm still super happy I purchased the long version, my knees are covered when I sit down. The only thing I have unhappiness
on is tucking it into things with where the pockets are located, it's just a bit bulky there. I like how things look layered underneath better anyway so it's no big deal
This dress is the coziest piece of clothing I've ever owned. I'm hooked. It's like a warm soft hug. I never knew wool could feel like this. Merino is magic! Cool in the summer, warm in the winter! It does run big, so size down.
The Sierra Tank Dress is just that - an amazing dress. Comfortable, flattering, a great wardrobe staple. It definitely is more of a dress-dress - because of the weight of the fabric and the sewn-in pockets, I have found it wears best as a dress rather than tucked in or tied up like a shirt (as some of the lighter weight fabric dresses can be). I'm typically a size S on top and a size M on the bottom; Sierra in a small turned out to be perfect for me (I ordered both and compared), giving me both enough shape to make it clear that I've got the right size while also having enough swing to be forgiving in the waist and hips. It's also loose enough to layer under and close-fitting enough to layer over! Amazing.
I live in Middle Tennessee and the weather can fluctuate from 30-70 degrees on any given day in the late fall/early winter. The sierra is heavy enough to make me feel like I have a substantive layer on, while not being restricting on my arms for warm days. It layers perfectly. I'd prefer the other style of pockets but these hold items well. I have long legs and a long torso, and the long length was just what I needed.
