I was a little worried about sizing reading the reviews between this and the not-100%-wool version. For reference, a medium Camellia fits me very well. I thought I might need to size up to a large, but went with a medium anyway. The medium fits great! It's not skin tight like a base layer, but it's also not baggy. I'd say it's a slightly tighter fit than the model wearing the emerald. I also have long arms and am used to sleeves being at least an inch too short for me. The sleeves are a great fit!
Great comfy shirt! I ordered a medium and a large. The medium fit the best; however, the shoulder seam was a bit off on one side, so I sent that back. I will end up ordering another medium for wearing under my Sierra, as the large is a bit too big for layering under. The large is wonderful, though! I love how comfortable it is, and the sleeve length is not too short (I have long arms). It has cooled down here, and I have not taken it off for two days. I even slept in it last night :) For fit: I have broad shoulders, so wear a large in sleeved dresses. I wear a medium in sleeveless dresses. Yet the medium in this shirt fit my shoulders perfectly. The large isn't too noticeably bigger, but the seam does fall slightly off my shoulder.
I ordered the 100% wool Sloan and the version mixed with nylon. The 100% wool is a smidge thicker/heavier fabric 190 gsm vs 160 gsm, which I think gives it a better drape. I also found the sleeves to be longer, which is what I need. The sleeves of the mixed material Sloan were almost a bracelet length and felt too short when I moved. Overall I thought the 100% version had a better fit, style and feel.
Sizing: I Do Not like any bumps or bulges to show through my clothes when standing, but I also don't like a garbage sack loose fit. I was in a quandary as to what size to order. Typically I'm a medium in many things, sometimes a large with broad shoulders and long arms. I own a Cora Shift dress, and after ordering multiple sizes, kept the small. I didn't keep it, but I was drowning in a Medium Sierra tank. According to the size chart for Sloan, I needed to order a Large. I emailed customer service and they were very helpful, especially when they told me the dresses are designed to be worn with a lot of positive ease, but the shirts are true to size. As a knitter that clicked and made sense. I still ordered a medium and large in both versions of the Sloan because of the great return policy. Customer service and the size chart were spot on with the Large being the right fit. For reference, I am 5'6", 156lbs, 34D/36C, 38/30/39. I plan to wear this stand alone or under a vest, not as a tight base layer, so I love the fit that skims my body without showing all it's flaws. The Emerald color is gorgeous and the Natural White, a nice light cream/off-white. The seams were not straight on one of the shirts, but customer service responded quickly and is going to replace it. I haven't had a chance to wear either shirt yet to report on durability.
I wasn't sure if I should size up, but this is roomy enough in my chart size by bust to wear comfortably. It is closer to the body than some cuts, but I feel comfortable in public in this shirt unlayered, as it is looser than a baselayer fit. The 100% wool gives a little more than the nylon blend, which makes it more forgiving. The sleeves are also 1.5" longer than the original Sloan, per the charts, and it makes all the difference in the world. My wingspan is 5'7", and the sleeves are just long enough to wear comfortably and not feel like they are too short. My measurements are 39-34-40, and I would like this in more colors!
