Dress is great for around the house but I would feel too exposed wearing it around town or to work.
The dress also rids you a little bit so that the neck line opens up a bit too much. I agree with other reviewers, dress is much more flattering backwards.
If there was a longer option I would buy that one!
Thanks Caitlin! We're making note of your feedback regarding the neckline and length. We're working on a Midi-Length Faux Wrap Dress right now. Stay tuned!
This is a great dress. It feels nice in your skin. It's a great length. I don't have children but it would be great for breast feeding due to the wrap style top. It's very flattering while still being loose and comfortable.
I wanted to love the Brooklyn so badly. The design is super cute, and I’m a nursing mama, so the “accessibility” was a huge plus. But dang. This dress doesn’t really work with a plethora of body types. I have broad shoulders, but I’m not that busty for someone of my size. Most of my weight is carried in my hips. The top half was swimming on me, and you could see my panty line through the bottom because it was too snug. I ordered the green, but I just couldn’t get past the fact that it looked like I was wearing scrubs (and the blue would be just as bad). Neither of those colors are particularly flattering on someone with super fair skin, and who wants to look like they just walked off a hospital shift? Please consider an adjustment on the sizing for future runs of the Brooklyn! I’ve seen many, many comments with the same critique.
I ordered the seafoam in Large, & it fits perfectly both ways, but I prefer the wrap in the front because I have broad shoulders and it's just so flattering. I feel feminine, but completely comfortable in this- my only tweak would be to add pockets, but then it might not drape as prettily, so I'll survive without them :) I was impressed with how well the length worked because I frequently have trouble with finding clothing that I feel confident will cover my butt when I lean over without getting a midi or maxi length, but this one is great no matter what I'm doing while I wear it. The color is just enough to not feel dull but I also didn't feel like it washed me out, & dressing it up or down is as simple as shoes and earrings changed out. 10/10, will recommend.
I returned my Rowena for this Brooklyn and I'M SO HAPPY I DID. The Brooklyn is totally my style. The elastic is comfy, and the sleeves are flowy. The chest does open up a good bit but it can be fixed with a clothespin (I am a 34C and I find it covers my chest very well).
My biggest complaint is that the "dusk blue" is totally just gray in person, which is a color I NEVER wear. I wish the black had been available when I bought it. But add pockets, and better colors? I'll buy several more.
I took the picture as soon as I put it on from the mail, which is why it's all creased. I'm looking forward to seeing how the fabric softens up. I might even try the 100 day challenge!
