I ordered the Camilla tank dress in black. I'm between a M and L, depending on how I want the dress to fit. I ordered a L because I knew I would be wearing the dress over base layers. The dress is just so beautiful! the material is thin, warm and drapes beautifully. I truly think it's one of the most beautiful dresses I've seen for Winter street wear. It's so roomy that I will be able to wear it over merino tights with leg warmers and long socks (a must in Vermont). It 's very challenging to not look like a stuffed goose when it gets cold here. I just love this dress!!!
I love the color.
I love this dress BUT be forewarned, the apricot color is a bit see through. My usual black unders did not work with this color, they had to be nude color or you might be able to opt for a slip? I am not sure if that would create static or not. That being said, the color is gorgeous and I took it out of the package and immediately wore it 5 days in a row styled different ways on a conference trip. I love it! I just need to invest in more nude bras and panties ! As far as the fit, I feel the dress is flattering, even on a curvier and apple shaped body. I read all the reviews and look at all the photos, so I wanted to share my experience.
I wanted to love this dress but it was super staticy no way to wear it that way
Thank you for your review, Kelly. We are sorry to hear that you were experiencing some static with your new dress. There are some easy ways to help remove static!
Here are a few tricks to try:
Natural fiber leggings
Our #1 tip if you are wearing leggings is to wear wool or natural fiber leggings rather than synthetic fibers like polyester, acrylic, etc. This makes the absolute biggest difference according to our customers.
Launder the dress sooner rather than later
Wash your dress and let it air dry. Often that initial laundering can improve the situation.
Metal hanger
Before putting on your dress, glide a metal clothing hanger or item through the inside of the item - the metal discharges the electricity, thereby removing the static.
Moisturize
Making sure your legs are moisturized can help. If you have a little extra lotion on your hands, run them along the top of your legs or under the skirt of your dress.
Please feel free to reach out if you need any other help!
This dress is so light and breezy. When I play ultimate frisbee in it, the men are considering wearing it too - I think they are serious. It’s an elegant and flattering cut that can easily be quite formal.
