our fiona dress comes with a few advantages.

I started my 100-day challenge a couple of weeks ago and I am loving this dress! It's comfy, sleek, and has sturdy pockets, so it already wins compared to all pants on the planet! I normally wear a slip under unlined dresses, but this one feels thick enough on its own, which was better than expected. As a pear-shaped gal with a rather small bust, the gathered waist does need to be adjusted a bit for an empire look (usually lifting my arms above my head does the trick). This hits me just above the knee, which is a little shorter than I would prefer, especially considering that I am on the short side, however it is longer than any of the swing dresses available. I have worn it dressed up with a long necklace and heels, dressed down with leggings, tucked into jeans, and even overnight. I am very sensitive to smells and it surprisingly doesn't stink at all after over a week of wear. Washing in mild detergent (I use ECOS Magnolia and Lily from Costco) has worked great and it dries fast hanging overnight to dry, so no need to buy anything fancy to keep it clean. So far, it's holding up great!
I love everything about the fiona.. the neck, the sleeves, the length, the waist are all perfect. I have 5 other wool& dress styles, but this is my absolute favorite.
I was very excited to take part in the 100 day challenge. I ordered the Rowena, but found that, with my large bust and middle, it hung in a dowdy, unflattering way. I rehomed Rowena and decided to try the Fiona, which has some shaping at the waist. Turns out, she is a very happy fit for me. I've worn her 5 days straight, now, in Texas heat, and never felt that the garment was any more stifling than my usual linen or cotton clothing. The fabric is soft and breathable. Fiona is a cute style that can be dressed up or down and is a great canvas for necklaces and scarves. The scoop neck and 3/4 sleeves lend themselves to all seasons. It has pockets! I did try both the L and XL, since there seems to be some variance in sizing with the different styles. The L fit too tight around the bust causing the elastic waist to ride up. The XL fit much, much better. The elastic sits on my natural waist and the bust has some ease. XL is the keeper and will see me through the next 100 days. I'm chuffed to bits with my Fiona and can highly recommend her for folks with a similar shape to mine. My measurements are 43.5-37-44. I hope to see some more colors in this style. Dark Forest please!
5 stars for the amazing fabric, the length (sleeves and skirt), the scoop neck, and the POCKETS. But 4 stars for the location of the elastic waist. I love that this dress is a bit more fitted than their A-line dresses, which my body looks better in, but the location is just a little odd. I'm *extremely* short-waisted, and this hits me just a little lower than a true empire waist would, but just a little higher than my true waistline. I wish it was just an inch or so lower. But despite that I still love the dress because of the fabric, the rest of the fit, and the pockets!
This dress fits perfectly, and I really love the way it looks. My only complaint is that the material holds onto even a small amount of sweat and smells worse than any of my other clothing if I sweat even a little bit. I know to use an aluminum free deodorant (in lieu of antiperspirant) and have followed laundering instructions to a T. I've been using the Facebook support group to troubleshoot and folks there have given me all kinds of products to buy, DIY fixes to attempt, and hand washing techniques. I've tried some but not all, so who knows, maybe the perfect solution is still out there. In my ideal world, washing the dress on cold with an appropriate detergent would be sufficient to clean the dress. The fact that it is (apparently) much more complicated to keep clean and smell-free is disappointing to me. (I want to add that I don't have strong body odor or sweat excessively- I've never had this issue with any other garment I've owned.)
Unfortunately scoop necks look terrible on me. I tried the tshirt first and had to return it because the scoop neck was enormous. I tried this dress in a size smaller and still it’s way too big. I was hoping this dress style would work with my very high waist and narrow shoulders but it just looked sad and baggy and the scoop neckline showed far too much for my comfort. I’m very pale and burn easily in the sun so I try to get higher necklines for that reason as well. I’ll try the boatneck shirt when it becomes available. It would be nice to have a boatneck 3/4 sleeve dress option. That sleeve length protects me from the sun but is more practical for doing tasks. So many of the clothing options here have the scoop neck. Is it really that popular? To me it just looks a bit sloppy. Quality 5 stars. Fit 2 stars. Style 2 stars.
This is another beautiful Wool& dress, but I think it is cut a lot smaller than the other dresses. I ordered a small. I am 5’8” and 116 lb. The elastic at the waist was tight and didn’t fit on my waist, but on my ribs. I have several other Wool& dress, all in small, but this one was too small. Sadly I sent it back and ordered a Rowena.
I absolutely adore this dress. I might have been able to size down to an xs but I love the length. The neckline is perfect. Right now I am wishing it had short sleeves, but I am sure I will appreciate the longer sleeves once it gets cold out.
Fiona is so so lovely! I really prefer a defined waist on me and Fiona has that without being too constricting. It’s soft and I feel beautiful and put together in it. I think it will be a fall and spring wardrobe staple for me!
This is my new go-to dress. It's super soft and comfortable, but also flattering somehow. I plan to wear it all the time.
