I love the fit of the Maggie. The sleeves and neckline are perfect. It’s just a bit short in my opinion. I wouldn’t really feel comfortable wearing without leggings. I wish they made an xs long
The marine blue is a great color, and the fabric is very smooth and soft. I really wanted to like this dress, and I love the idea of the 100 days challenge. Ultimately, it wasn’t flattering on me, and I couldn’t see wearing it. I like the style and could see trying it again after losing some of the COVID weight, but I did return it.
I have worn the gray Maggi for over a week now and have found the color a good neutral to work with all the accessories I use to try to make it a litttle different every day. I might get a little more adventurous the next dress I get in the way of color, but this is working very well. I find it very comfortable. I think that the Maggi with the shorter sleeve will carry over into the Spring and I live in a climate that doesn’t require super heavy clothes so it is working well here right now with a sweater and or coat.
Love the versatility
Disappointed at the low quality, very nylon dress. I didn’t read enough. I was expecting wool with a small amount of synthetic
We're sorry to hear this dress didn't live up to your expectations. Yes, many of our dresses are a 78% wool, 22% nylon blend for increased durability (you can read about each style's fabric details right on the product page.) Please reach out to our customer experience team if you'd like to arrange an exchange or return. We also have a 100% wool Clara dress with additional 100% options coming in the future.
Have not actually worn the dress yet but the fit and feel are perfect. I have sensitive skin and love how the fabric glides over my skin and how the medium gives me room to breathe yet looks slimming. Can’t wait for warm weather.
It's finally here! I'm very excited about this dress. I ordered S because I read lots of reviews of people who thought the dress was too tight in the hips, and my hip measurements are on the large end of the XS size. For months (because that's how long the delivery took, haha) I was worried that I had ordered the wrong size and it would be too big. It's a bit looser on me than on the models in the photos, but I like that aesthetic and it works well with my weight gain goals.
Also for months I've been keeping this dress in mind every time I needed to buy something new, trying to imagine the actual color it would be so it all would fit together. The color (marine blue) is lovely, but darker than in the pictures - probably because the light in a photo shoot is different from the light you see in everyday locations. It's a very versatile color though, and combines well with light browns, mustard yellows, reds and greens.
About the pockets, you can see where they are and they exhibit what other reviewers call 'strange bulging', but that's fine with me. I'm pretty sure that complaining about visible pockets is how we ended up with pocket-less jeans.
Finally, the fabric. It is a lot thinner and lighter than I expected, but that's great. I bought it mainly to wear in humid 100 degree summers, and can't wait to test out the UV protection (my shoulders burn at least once every year...).
The only thing I dislike - and hence the four stars instead of five - is that it clings to my cotton leggings. This is the reason I stopped wearing many dresses: I want to wear a swing dress/skirt, not a piece of cloth that sticks to my shape like a magnet. So we'll see how well it survives winter with the leggings and the tights, and if it's too clingy I'll just wear it when the weather gets warmer again.
The fabric of this dress is lightweight and kind of thin, but not see-through thin. I love the scoop neckline. I'm a little concerned about it looking a bit fuzzy (on the inside/underside) when I hand wash it, but so far it is holding up well (I'm only on day 10.) The length is great on me. It's perfect with tights and it will be perfect once the weather warms up. I just wish I would have gotten the small! I was thinking that since it is winter I would be layering underneath the dress - which I am - but I still could have gone with a small. On top of that, I accidentally lost some weight and now it is just too big. Since I'm doing the 100 day challenge with it I ordered a dress cinch to pin it in the back.
I love my Maggie. I had to wait and she’s beautiful! I knew when I ordered that I would hem her. I think I took about 4 inches off because I need a dress to be above my knees. I’m busty but short so I went with a small. I think next time I’ll order an extra-small but I didn’t want to wait.
I was really excited for the Maggie because I wanted short sleeves. I got an XL (which is my normal size) which fits me well - not too big or small. That said, I am pear shaped. The pockets are extremely awkward and stick out right at the hips. If you’re skinny or not as curvy, you might be fine. I have to try and tuck the inside pocket material backwards so it doesn’t look as bad. Also, it’s shorter than expected and I wish I got the long version even though I’m only 5’3”. I was able to stretch it out a bit while wet. The material is thinner than expected, but I’m on day 17 and it’s holding up well. I’ve washed it twice without any issues and it dries fast overnight.
Thanks for your review! We're glad the fabric is working so well for you, and it looks great in the photos! We'll pass along your feedback to our team.
