I have a smaller chest and larger hips, and this style works well for that. I’m a M usually, and this M works well.
I love the coral red color, but the dress itself is pretty thin. I have to wear a skin colored bra underneath, and it’s super low cut. It’s only been 2 months, and it’s started developing tiny holes. I feel like I have been so careful with this dress (always take rings off, hand wash, hang dry, etc), but it’s not held up like other dresses.
The Sylvie is so pretty! In the spirit of full disclosure, I wasn't sure about the fit when it first came in. I have a bit of baby belly from my last child, and I felt like the waist hitting where it did made me look thicker around the middle than I am. However, I've worn the dress frequently since then and don't feel that way now. The slightly gathered waist hides what I want to hide...this is the first dress I've ever had with a cut like this, so it took (for me!) some getting used to. Now, two weeks in, I'm in love.
As others have said, it's a very princess-y dress, and the skirt has such a nice swing to it. I got the coral red, and it's lovely. 100% recommend. Now I want the iris purple lol!
I bought the purple (Iris?) Sylvie. I feel like a princess in it. It’s the perfect party dress. It is a little low on me, and when I wore it to work I felt a bit self conscious. To be fair I’m very busty. But I know I look good when my husband says, “Oh, don’t you look pretty!”
I was hesitant to purchase this dress, but I’m so glad I did. As a Pear-shaped XXL/2X/1X, I was worried the gathered skirt would emphasize my already ample hips. It doesn’t at all. In fact, other than Brooklyn, this is probably the most flattering fit for me. I haven’t worn her yet, but once school starts again, this teacher will have Silvie on heavy rotation. The purple is not a color I normally choose for myself, but it is magnificent!
It was cute but too big. Returning.
